  1. I fixed my pain by not letting the flaps overlap. I now have them side by side instead of on top of each other. I also used heat reflective tape on the piece that holds the adapter.
  2. Vive Support, why are you not responding to any of these wireless adapter heat threads?
  3. Vive Support, why are you not responding to any of these wireless adapter heat threads?
  4. You can see the temperature here: C:\Program Files\VIVE Wireless\ConnectionUtility\Log My M-Temperature gets up to 94. I put gold heat reflective tape on my DAS to help keep the heat away from my head, and it works, but it probably makes the adapter get even hotter.
  5. So HTC knows about this, I'm getting up to 93 degrees. [2018-10-14 00:41:58.497 -5 0x199C INFO LOG] M_Temperature=93, R_Temperature=59 HTC, what's the difference between M_Temp and R_Temp?
  6. I moved it there within the past month. No difference. This has been an issue since 2016. Is there a log to which you can direct me.
  7. I just moved the base stations closer together and on the ground, and there was less jitter. Being this close isn't an option though. https://imgur.com/gallery/9lxka
  8. Yep, they've been blocked for months now. I put heavy duty paper discs in there to cover the bulbs because laser light would reflect off the bulbs. I covered every hinge, door knob, door stop (masking tape), outlet cover (matte paint), etc.
  9. Synthesis/John, I just tried the base stations sitting on solid surfaces roughly the same distance as the mounts are from each other, and it was the same issue (obvious jitter of close up objects). Sync cable is always used. I re-did room setup too. Will covering or painting white walls/ceilings help?
  10. Look here: http://doc-ok.org/?p=1478 Read the "Residual Noise and Tracking Jitter" part and watch the video. That's what I'm experiencing. He only has his base stations 4m apart.
  11. Synthesis, I haven't tried taking them down and putting them on a solid surface like a desk yet. I tried them on tripods, and that didn't help. It made it worse. 3DA, I've tried the base stations at multiple angles and positions. Video shoot vibrations? I don't know what you mean. You can only tell they're vibrating if you touch them. Yes, SteamVR is updated. I'm not on the beta. I know I still shake a little bit, but the image shakes independent of that. It does not match my own movements. When I'm in the center, this is most visible. I already tried USB 2.0 and 3.0 on two different PCs. No difference.
  12. The shaking reduces when I'm close to either one. The lower one might be better but, maybe, only because it's closer to my head. My only guess is vibrations. I want to reduce them as much as possible. I wonder if other people have the same issue but just don't notice it. For example, I've seen a lot of people on reddit that act like their subpar PC is running games perfectly when it would be impossible that they're not in major reprojection. I notice any reprojection immediately.
  13. 1. I only hear the regular high pitched barely audible base station sound. 2. I haven't tried that yet. Why would that help? 3. The closer I am to the base stations, the less shaking. The closer to the center I am, the more shaking. I don't want to have to make my playspace smaller. People with larger playspaces have said they don't have this issue. I'll do anything to fix this without sacrificing space. I bought this house partly for Vive space. Do 2.0 base stations fix this issue? If so, I'd buy them for over a grand.
  14. Synthesis, thanks. Here's the other side: https://imgur.com/gallery/SYIOp I had this shaking image issue before adding those other machines, shuffleboard table, and picture frames. Are they far enough away to not be an issue?
  15. 1. Fully updated 2. Vibration from street? I'm in a regular neighborhood with cars rarely passing. It's a big house. 3. Of course it's vibrating. They're vibrating if they're on.
  16. Double-mounted htc vive base stations https://imgur.com/gallery/LWwce Playspace https://imgur.com/gallery/i5Nk2 The TV screen is never facing the playspace. Even the recessed light bulbs are covered. The base stations couldn't be any tighter. They had one mount each from April 2016 until Dec 2017, when I added a 2nd mount to each in hopes that it would decrease vibrations. Tracking of controllers and games isn't an issue other than this close up menu/object shaking issue. If I'm in a car or cockpit in-game, I can see it shaking. There's ductwork in that lower part of the ceiling, but the shaking still occurs when there's no air on.
  17. When standing still, the image is visibly shaking. I can see up close objects and menus shaking. 4.4m playspace with base stations 6.6m apart and mounted tight to the wall studs. There are no reflective objects. Sync cable with B-C mode. Tried USB 3.0 and 2.0. This is the 2nd computer that had this problem. i7 8700K, 1080 Ti, 32GB 3200 DDR4. I've tried everything. Please, help.
