  1. Is that what happened? I was just about to post a thread about 120hz screen tearing that just appeared. Steam vr must have auto updated me. EDIT: so I'm using VIVE console for SteamVR ( white icon not the blue one) it says my version number is 2.1.22.6. All of you are talking about 2.0.22.6. I have the same 120hz screen tearing issue ( not at 90hz though). . Help?
  2. Yes, I'm the Original Poster. My issue is the right eye screen tearing. I've been back and forth with support and they acknowledge the issue. The fix is iether firmware or driver update. When the issue occurs, hold the black button on the side of the VP2 and the link box power button for 15 seconds and release. ( takes 3 attempts somtimes) after a few moments vive console will allow you to force update the firmware. If this dosent fix it reinstall the most current drivers for your card, even if thier already installed. This fixes it everytime and only takes about 2 or 3 minutes to do both. I haven't had the issues in days but also have not had a system crash or BSOD which is what I think causes the issue in the first place.
  3. Yeah, to clarify for thers reading there are 2 different issues being talked about here. The title refers to a screen tearing issue in the right eye LCD that I'd driver/firmware released and can be fixed by force updating firmware or graphic drivers ( even if they are they same version as already installed). The issue re occurs if you have a system crash, driver hang or BSOD. Rinse and repeat the above fix solves the issue temporarily. Others on here have an LCD color issue that may be hardware and not software related and has no known fix it seems at the moment other than hardware replacement it seems.
  4. I'm going to lost this on the other topic as well. Was preparing to ship it back to Vive again, RMA process ready to roll and all but I decided to try one last thing. Although resetting the firmware several times failed to work today like it did yesterday I didn't try reinstalling Nvidia drivers. So I reinstalled the latest Nvidia drivers. 522.25, then rebooted and now the right eye issue is gone again. Playing smooth at Extreme 120 setting with no tearing. ..........sigh So I'm at a loss. I'm happy either the driver reinstall or system reboot fixes the issue st least temporarily. I don't know what the catalyst is to trigger the error but I suspect a driver crash or BSOD from somthing unrelated may corrupt the Nvidia drivers. Anyways Im going to run it a few more days. If the right screen tearing reappears I'll troubleshoot with reboot, followed by driver reinstall then failing that force firmware update on the Vive Pro 2. If the issue persists beyond that I may send it back. I'd encourage any other VP2 owners with this issue to test these 3 things and see if it fixes your issue even temporarily.   7. The issue is back and resetting the firmware no longer fixes the right eye artifactng or tearing on Ultra or Extreme settings in the Vive console. Vive support just wants me to send it back again for another 3 week RMA ordeal. I've also read that the Vive series is discontinued. So I'm wary of HTC's commitment to this product anymore. Completely Frustrating.

I attempted to reply top my own topic regarding the Vive Pro 2 right LCD lens artifacting which is here: I attempted to reply saying that after 24 hours thinking resetting the firmware had fixed the issue, the issue is back and can no longer be fixed by a firmeware reset. I also resubbmitted a ticket to Vive support with links to this thread and a reddit thread showing a multiplicity of VP2 owners having this same issue in the right lens and all very recently for some reason. Any reply I try to make in that topic here is now hidden for some reason.
  9. So after 24 hours the same issue is back in the right eye. Reset the firmware is no longer working as Ive done it 3 times and am still getting artifacting in the right LCD lens. I dont know if this is a systemic hardware issue or a driver/firmware issue but its intolorable at this point. I've just paid $140 for this "repair" and have no confidence that shipping it back to Vive will result in its repair as the headset oviously can't be fixed. It was great playing for a few hours with zero issues last night. Very disappointing.
  10. Your incredible dude. Manually resetting the headset and re updating the firmware fixes the refresh rate tearing issue in the right screen. It's ridiculous VIVE support NEVER told me to do this, had me pay shipping and $140 to "fix" my issue after "diagnosis" and all they did was reset the firmware and never told me how to do it myself. I was just about to ship it back to them again. Thank you for saving me that. No my issue dosent look like your pictures. The issue was just what you said.
  11. The issue started in my right eye about one month ago, using my 3090, after having the Vive Pro 2 for about a year. Just got it back about a week ago, I have a 4090 now, and the shimmering 90/120hz refresh scanning issue in the right eye...... is back as of today. Going through RMA...AGAIN...I guess.
  12. Yes the issue was resolved after it was sent to Vive for repair. I've been playing at 120hz without issue now.
  13. So I ended up having to RMA the Vive Pro 2. For me, what I noticed is that issue in the right lens was related to resolution and refresh rate. Raising the res to Extreme with 120hz the issue became much worse. Lower it to high 90hz the issue almost goes away. So I guess they replaced the lens or somthing. VIVE dosent tell you what the issue was they just repaired it and sent it back.
  14. I just noticed recently that when gaming I my Vive Pro 2, an occasional shimmering effect occurs at the edges of my right lense. As well as a momentary faint ripple going from top to bottom on the right lense. This doesn't occur if I remain still and dont move my head. But if I move around in game this faint edge shimmer/horizontal ripple will occur every few seconds just in the right eye. I've reset all the USB's and the headset through the console and all devices are up to date. Has anyone had this issue or fixed it? Thanx.
