  1. It's not a defective unit or a malfunctioning headset. There are lots of people on reddit complaining about this. It's probably another design flaw like headphones. It's impossible so many peope got dfective units. I would suggest you check out the dual camera stereo passthrough mode and see it for yourself before reaching a conclusions, and maybe let us know whether there's a fix possible. I believe it's a design flaw. Maybe it can be corrected by adjusting the passthrough image in one eye digitally through software, as lenses themselves can't be moved.
  2. This is a known issue, and reddit threads show lots of people are having same issues. Vive aren't acknowledging or accepting that the dual camera alignment in stereo passthrough mode is incorrect. This is not a defective vive headset, but probably a design flaw. reddit shows lots of people are having this issue and I don' t think so many people got defective units.
  3. So just a quick update. I went ahead and updated my Vive Wireless Adapter and firmware after backing up the original one just in case. Everything is as smooth as before. No issues whatsoever. Looks like something is limiting my friend's system. Drivers and firmware are not the reason for image pixelation.
  4. So after some digging in logs I found my current firmware version is 4.0.10371.5 New firmware available is 4.0.10375.22
  5. Hi, I have a perfectly working Vive Pro and Wireless Adapter on my system. The app has an update notification but I haven't bothered to update as it may break an already perfectly working set up. With so many people reporting issues, I'm hesitating to touch that update button :) I recently showcased my Vive Pro and Wireless Adapter to my friend who was interested in investing in VR set up, but he's aware of Wireless Adapter issues depeding on so many system variables. So we decided to plug in my Vive Pro and Wireless Adapter to his system to see how it performs. His system is similar to mine - same mobo and GPU but a better CPU. Mine is 7820X and his is 7900X. We downloaded the new version of wireless app during set up, and in turn it updated my Wireless Adapter firmware. I was surprised that the performance was really bad on his system. For the first time I saw the pixelated and jittery image that people were talking about here. Some quick troubleshooting didn't fix anything and he eventually cancelled his plan for VR set up. However, I was very nervous that with an updated firmware how is it gonna perform back in my system. So I rushed and plugged it in my set up and noticed that my wireless app downgraded the firmware back to previous version lol. And I was hugely relieved to see that everything is working as before. Now my dilemma is I can't figure out whether it's the new wireless app version that casued this issue, or his system has some limitations like so many people here asking for help. There's no way to download a previous version of wireless app to conclusively rule the app out. Also, I'm hesitating to update my app coz there will be no going back if I encounter issues like him. And if I have to reinstall Windows at some point? Yah I have to download the new app version so I gotta figure it out now. Is there a way to download the wireless app version that was on website on Oct 12, as that's the date I downloaded mine and never updated it since. Thanks :)
  6. Any update on this issue? I've had this glitch since day 1 I got my Vive Pro, wired or wireless, and as I did quite a bit of reading, lots of people are having this issue. The image stereo is not properly aligned and it's a very unconfortable experience using room view.
  7. Thanks Lestaticon for the suggestion. I appreciate it. I'll definitely give it a try. Though I kinda briefly checked pressing the headphones on my ears for improvement as I had read about it here; it does make a difference for sure, but nowhere near DAS or no where near satisfactory. My cheapest headphones sounded better than this. It amazes me how this was marketed with the product launch and not a single person at HTC checked it out before release.
  8. I have the exact same issue. Mine is also locked same rate as yours. No way to set it lower or higher. SteamVR shows an error message and restarts back with no change to camera rate. This was the case even before installing wireless adapter. The other wierd thing is the "room view" dual camera stereo seperation is wrong. The images for two eyes don't line up correctly and that makes for a very uncomfortable viewing experience, like cross eyed.
  9. I've read all of this thread and tried everything plus hours of searching on net to figure out a way. Any update on fixing Vive Pro audio? I don't have distorted or tinny audio. The volume is just way too low and there's no bass. Any ETA or update? This is sound quality is totally awful. I've tried the camera on/off bug, updated every driver, software, tinkerer for hours with Windows sound properties...but nothing increases the volume or provides acceptable bass.
  10. My camera rate is at 40. Room view, dashboard etc are all enabled too, but I don't have any issues. I have hours of play time with no disconnects, grey screens or tracking issues. Camera and mic work flawlessly. Wierd thing is my camera is locked at 40. When I try to change it lower or higher, SteamVR restarts but it's back to 40. This was even the case before installing wireless adapter. My specs: Asus Rampage VI Extreme X299 CoreX i7 7820X Asus Strix GTX 1080ti OC Edition Corsair 32GB DDR4 3200 Samsung SSD 960 Pro - 1TB EVGA 1200w PSU WiGig card is in PCI-E x4 slot
