  1. I think your issue might be different from the one this thread is about, I never got error 208 and the Vive Pro doesn't use the 3-in-1 cable (it just has one proprietary cable that goes from the linkbox to the headset so the linkbox cannot be bypassed)
  2. the suggestion of going to Nvidia driver 417.71 worked for me as well, thanks ! Although this solution works for the time being hopefully the underlying issue will be resolved so more up to date drivers can be used. If I can provide any information that might help with that feel free to let me know.
  3. Thanks for your response! To answer your question, I have connected several other devices to the mini-DisplayPort output on my system and none of them have had any issues at all (including a G-Sync monitor that had been connected for at least 120 consecutive hours). I guess I was trying to dance around it being the the linkbox/linkbox to HMD cable since I can't really find those online for sale and the ones I can find are pretty expensive/not from trustable sites. (Also I still don't 100% know if those are the issue since I have no spares to test, my friend has the regular Vive but both the linkbox/cable are different from the Pro) Do you know if I could RMA or otherwise replace just my linkbox and cable? I'd totally be willing to send my current ones in if needed, I just really want to be able to again use this device.
  4. Hi! Unfortunately I don't think the cable getting tugged on is the culprit (I've tried not even wearing/moving the headset and it still throws the same HDCP error after 15-30 seconds in Steam Home). I also took the little cover off headset to ensure the cable was fully plugged in on that end. Another update is that I bought a new mini-DisplayPort to mini-DisplayPort cable and still get the same error, but at least it rules that cable out. The only things left I can think of being wrong would be either the linkbox or linkbox to headset cable somehow died (but I wouldn't know how that could happen, I've never moved my Vive/linkbox since I first set everything up and there is no strain on any cables). Is there a way to disable HDCP or something along those lines? The headset clearly works since I can use it for 15-30 seconds so the frustrating part is that "High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection" shuts it down.
  5. Gave that a shot, I did clean installs of the latest NVIDIA driver (430.86) as well as a previous one I was using before this HDCP error started happening. Same error comes up every time. Any other ideas? I'm at a loss
  6. Hi John! Thanks for your response! I tried disconnecting all cables at both their inputs and outputs and still get the same error. Here's a link to my System Report. Hopefully with your help I can get this issue resolved, what's so frustrating about it is that I know everything works since I can get into Steam Home for 15-30 before the annoying error pops up and the headset goes black.
  7. Hi everyone! Hopefully someone can help with with this really annoy issue I've been trying to fix for a couple hours. What started happening today when I try to use my Vive Pro is that it will work totally fine for about 15-30 seconds before the headset display goes black. The errors that come up in SteamVR are: "SteamVR has encountered an HDCP error. Please create a SteamVR System Report for further info" and then this comes up briefly before going back to the above message: "Your headset's display cable has become disconnected. Please check your headset's connections and try again." Everything was working fine for months, I didn't use the Vive for a couple weeks, and now this. Does anyone know how to fix this or where I could go to get some help? I tried doing the system report but I can't find where it give you any info about errors, it just gives me info about my system. I've already tried: Reinstalling Steam Reinstalling SteamVR Using the SteamVR beta Reinstalling my NVIDIA drivers using DDU (I'm on the latest as of this post but have tried others) Reinstalling my USB host controllers Uninstalling the Vive USB drivers from SteamVR Disabling the power management from SteamVR Unplugging everything and plugging it back in After getting pissed, installing a fresh copy of Windows 10 on another partition and trying from there None of the above solved the problem. If anyone has any tips or can point me in the right direction I would hugely appreciate it since I'm starting to run out of ideas and can't find much online.
