  1. I'm impressed that @C.T.never speaks about this, always with updates that don't change anything about the main VR problem (tracking) HTC of all the companies I have ever bought a product from, you are the worst, not only for launching a defective product, but for not admitting the shit they designed. Congratulations, if you want to be the worst VR company, you win 🙂 It will complete 2 months without an update, and I am sure that when the update is released, nothing will change in the tracking, A totally incompetent company, where your product will make 1 year of launch and still has not managed to solve the problem. It's been a long time since I posted on the forum because I was waiting for a new update to see if there would be any improvement, but as the update didn't arrive, I'm here to express not only my indignation but that of all the consumers of this shitty product. Have a hint of professionalism, put the whole team to fix this shit or make a note of clarification explaining that this garbage dont have fix and make a worldwide recall. 1 year of product, 2 months without beta update ... thx for nothing _l_ with love: angry customer ❤️

  3. is there a way for me to go back to version 1.0.10.7? I feel that all versions after that I had a loss of performance in tracking
  4. Well, after many tests, I will try to pass here all the tracking problems I was able to find. This persists or is new in this beta. 1 - Sniper mode: the problem when one control is in front of the other, the tracking of the frontal control is lost and, as you move laterally, it gets worse. 2 - Below the head: another problem that I found with this last update, every time I get the control closest to my chest (below the chin), the tracking is lost. 3 - Hands on: I put my hands forward and under the control, completely loses track. which causes some problems when I turn the control down in other positions as well.. (This also causes loss of tracking on the sides when you rotate the controller to the opposite side of the camera.) 4 - Tired arms: If I keep my arms relaxed at the hips, the crawl will go up and down. 5 - Very close: when the control gets too close to the vr, the tracking is lost, remaining immobile even if I keep moving. Then, when you move away from the vr (and after a while), the tracking will return to the new location (teleport). 6 - Above and behind: when placing the control above the head a little back, it gets lost when returning (teleports to the location). And just behind the head, as if you were going to pick up an item from the backpack, it also gets lost alone. Well, after more than 200 hours of htc at IN PLAY, those are the problems I have been able to find so far. Some have been around since I bought it. I don't remember seeing any problems 100% solved (about tracking) since I bought it, but I know the improvements that have occurred since this version. For those who want to test the problems mentioned above, you can do it in the room (home), clicking to change your avatar, you will see a reversed image of yourself to be able to take the test and see where the tracking is. lost. My update considerations: I understand the reason for leaving some versions without improvement in tracking, because some problems that arise from one version to another need to be solved (that's why it is the beta version). However, I really miss seeing an update entirely dedicated to tracking, which is the main problem with htc vive cosmos. It may not be such a big update, but several small updates where we really see the improvement in VR and the work of the team dedicated to improving what is the main complaint of the community.
  5. Another problem that I encountered, when I put my hands forward and under the control, completely loses track. which causes some problems when I turn the control down in other positions as well. 😕
  6. I have to thank mainly for the speed in the update and, secondly, focus on tracking. Although I realized that I was focused on a few specific games. I did tests not only on them, but also standard tracking tests that I always do. So, I have some points to show 1 - I noticed a slight improvement in the controller above the head 2 - There was a small improvement when I lowered the controls (armrest), they are not moving alone 3 - After the change I made in the room and in today's test, I still had no problems with the random loss of tracking in sudden movements (WORST) 4 - Here, when things get complicated, my tracking is being totally lost under my head, basically leaning against my chest. Where now it gets lost just by passing it through the bottom camera. So here there was a big worsening. Note: I know it is not in the update, but just to remember the tracking, it is still totally lost near the cameras (in some games, where you read something and see an item up close, it becomes an annoyance) But in general, thanks for the update and the speed of the latest version of this one, I hope you continue at that pace.
  7. I find it funny to see @C.T. responding to people who have problems with the update, but that does not provide an explanation for future tracking updates. (What is also a problem) Today I made some changes in my room where I play. I changed the lamp to 30w (led) that stopped showing little light. My walls are white, I put colored ribbons in the shape of a cross so as not to lose sight when I look at her. And finally, I bought batteries that don't decrease the voltage when they are running out. In my opinion, the changes were very useful and I stopped losing control of any sudden movement, keeping only the standard problems. As I said several times here on the forum, I believe that the cosmos will never be perfect for tracking, because it has a factory problem. However, for what I like to play, I can divide myself. Shooting games I played without problems SuperHOT VR Half Life ALYX Pistol whip Game I did the test after the changes in the room were beatsaber playing a song on the expert +, where I knew he would make several movements haha and I managed to play without losing the tracking once. However, when doing some tests with the controls above the head, below the head and very close to the headset, I still had the problem of loss of tracking, where the controls were moved alone (you can do this test in VR ROOM where you put this to change your avatar, you'll see a "mirror" image of you) I believe that, with some updates, they can improve this, however, I believe that the sniper mode problem will NEVER be solved because it is a factory problem of how they did the control.
  8. I believe that the rift should use some type of sensor in the control for tracking, where perhaps the cameras try to check the location of the sensor and thus define where the control is. If you put sensors in different positions (and in different places) on each control, even if one protrudes over the other (sniper mode), he would still be able to identify where each control is. Htc cosmos opted for a more beautiful designer (in my opinion) but nothing functional. So much so if you put your hand in front of the light on the control it is totally lost. So I really believe that the problem is control. And as the camera must have been designed to identify the control light, the product becomes defective and will never be perfect, especially in the sniper mode where the rear control (the one closest to you) will always cover the front light. The only thing they can try to do is work on how the cameras identify the control light so that it tries to make it more precise, but I don't know how much better it would look. They would have to review the entire headset system that identifies the light, perhaps making cameras work at a different time for each control and making the camera identify any light movement at all. this makes sense haha, explains the neglect and quality control of the company. Well, think about it for 1 second, how the hell was a product released with a tracking issue impossible to replicate (on launch day) and nobody in the company says anything. They thought it was a good idea to launch it this way, perhaps with the idea "we can try to solve it in the future" 8 months and nothing. And when they do something, they don't improve tracking, and if you see some of the comments above, they make the situation worse. Well, I still believe it can improve a bit, as I said, but I have already accepted the fact that it will never be perfect or come close to other models, in the case of tracking. Since I don't play shooting games (where the sniper mod is used), I am not affected; all the games I played had fun for me (except OhShape, which was impossible to play), sometimes losing track; however, they were soon recovered. However, the problems I always talk about can be solved, as it is a software problem, they are problems similar to the launch, where the cameras lose the light of the controller and it moves by itself. So, I hope they are. So, I hope they are.
  9. I also believe that the product is defective and will never have a 10/10 tracking score. Which is a shame, but I hope they improve to an 8/10 point However, I believe that as they have improved a lot since launch, I think it can improve even more, they just need to focus on that problem. However, taking a month for an update and having nothing to track is difficult to improve. As I said before, the biggest problem (besides sniper mode) is tracking too close to the headset, far above and far below. My impression is that when the headset completely loses the control light, it is completely lost, which explains many of the tracking problems. High above = see only the bottom of the control Far below = (hands down) = see also only the bottom of the control Too close to the headset = he sees only one light and does not understand that it is the control. Sniper mode = the rear control overlaps the front light and loses it. So if there's anything really bad about the cosmos headset, it's the control and the way it was designed for the cameras to identify where they are. It would also explain why they returned to the elite cosmos for standard control. If they go back and study the best way to get the headset to track the controller lighting, I believe they can improve tracking even further. Well, I still believe in the valve (even very discouraged), but please take the time to improve tracking. And try to release updates more quickly mainly focused on tracking, even with little improvement release the update so we can give feedback
  10. Thanks for this update, but I have a few points I would like to mention. First of all (I will talk again even though it looks boring) the updates are taking a long time to come out, this version took more than 1 month, and for the delay I would have liked to see an improvement in tracking, where everyone knows it is horrible, and that already make 8 MONTHS. I don't want to look boring but I'm talking as a consumer, can you focus on improving tracking? 8 MONTHS and it is still problematic, in that time there was some improvement but far from perfect. It is starting to look like you are not wanting to say that the product is defective and there is no way to improve more than that, because within these 8 months you have already had some updates and even a new headset. And the problem continues. Sorry the outburst is that it is really frustrating you buy a product that came with a problem and in 8 months it will not be solved, mainly coming from a company like valve.
  11. and it keeps increasing the time. haha
  12. I chose the cosmos for the same reason. I would only be able to buy 1 headset and I chose it. However today I am starting to regret it. As I said above I don't have the option of having 2 - 3 headsets I had a huge difficulty in buying 1 hahaha (and I'm still finishing paying). I am really upset with the lack of information and the progress of the updates. 8 months of release and I still can't fix the tracking (despite having a huge improvement, but far from perfect), the product that arrived already defective they would have to have a huge team to fix it until it is perfect, launching beta updates every week and final versions 1x per month (as it was in the beginning). It seems that after version 1.0.9.6 (Where was the biggest leap in improvement) and the launch of the cosmos elite, they forgot about the cosmos, remembering that this version only had a big improvement compared to the launch but the product still has many problems. I know valve and have been using its services for 14 years (steam) and the first time I am really disappointed with their product.
  13. I will do the test, but I believe that this version and the steam version are the same (since both are in the same version #stayhome). The problem was in the exchange of movements in greater difficulties. The controller did not recognize the movement at the correct speed or simply did not go to the exact position I wanted (I could see by the projected shadow that he was moving alone or not changing position). That was the first game that was really sad when trying to play in the cosmos. Well, I hope they solve these problems or, in the next update, make a very significant improvement in tracking, since almost 8 months have passed since the launch and the product still has a "defect", it doesn't even seem like a valve thing.
  14. Perfect, I'm looking forward to seeing the new updates. Today I bought a game that is horrible to play in the cosmos (practically impossible), I had to ask for a refund of it on steam, a pity because the game (OhShape) seemed super fun. So I await these updates, as it has been more than 1 month without beta updates, which for a product that has a BIG PROBLEM like the cosmos, it seems like a joke all this delay to update. 🥰
  15. Hello, I understand, so much so that I even commented on them working with reduced staff due to the pandemic, read the text again that you will see. I am working at home office which I believe that many of their employees are also. And even if you caught it before the pandemic, there was a delay between months to launch beta versions / final version, and noting the date of the end of March (where the pandemic already existed and there were already many infected) they released a beta version with a difference of 3 days and after 7 days launched the final version of 1.10.11.2. And remembering that the launch of the elite cosmos was also close to that date. So I believe that talking about the situation in the world because of the delay is just an excuse, the situation has just gone crazy, but the protection measures for the pandemic have been in effect for several months.
