  1. I am not a developer, but I saw this recent post on the Vive forums that mentioned SRanipal Runtime. In the post links to a tutorial about SR_Runtime that requires hardware to be connected before running the software. Step 1: Ensure that your Vive Pro Eye HMD is connected to your PC
  2. If the clamping pressure of the arm pads on the back of the head squeezes too tight. The velcro arm pads can be removed and replaced with thinner mouse pad cut outs. Just a cheap mouse pad 2mm thick. Trace original pad on a piece of tape and cut out.
  3. With Vive Flow system update 1.56.623.01, you can disable phone as controller (Settings > Advanced), which means that while mirroring your phone, a bluetooth mouse paired with your phone can be used as a real cursor to select, highlight, and click and drag. Mouse wheel works too. Pair a bluetooth keyboard to your phone as well, and you can focus on activities such as writing or planning your day with apps on your phone. Can sit upright with better posture with a Vive Flow, rather than having the neck bent over looking down at a phone or computer monitor. For a more comfortable time try adjusting the face cushion's nose rest (be careful) and turning on the blue light filter. Try taking a break from VR every 30 minutes or an hour.
  4. With Vive Flow system update 1.56.623.01, you can disable phone as controller, which means you can use Samsung Dex with the phone as a trackpad. Using your phone as a trackpad while mirroring Samsung Dex will allow you to work with your Vive Flow as a passenger in a car, without other passengers seeing what you're working on. The phone screen will just be black with outlines for the trackpad.
  5. @Caffeine You did it! Vive Flow System updated 1.56.623.01 Hide phone controller connection status message when mirroring your phone. You can turn on this setting from Settings > Advanced.
  6. Vive Focus 3 + VIVE Business Streaming USB Cable Not exact, but the Vive Focus 3 might get you closer to what you are hoping. The streaming cable is currently sold out, but Vive Focus 3 also has streaming with WiFi 5 or WiFi 6. Thanks to @michela for mentioning this cable exists in another discussion.
  7. Interesting that it is technically possible for Vive Flow to receive a Windows project Miracast stream if you are able to quickly disconnect phone mirroring, and quickly establish another Miracast connection like Dex or Windows project. These are technical possibilities that would expand the personal space that Vive Flow provides in VR, in addition to personal wellness to also allow for personal productivity. Both are focused and peaceful, and relate to self improvement. Dex or phone+keyboard have worked better with Vive Flow, but for Windows mirroring I haven't been able to get it to work reliably though, and takes repeated tries back and forth cancelling phone mirroring Smart View, Widows Project reconnect, and confirm Screencasting Failed Try gain on the Vive Flow. Not sure if video quality is optimized for gaming, but I tested projecting from an average business laptop (personal) using an old router. Video quality good enough for personal productivity, typing, organizing your day to be able to focus in the Flow. Not hunched over looking at a little laptop screen and other distractions in the room, but instead looking at a big screen in VR. Shortcoming is that the display aspect ratio on the Vive Flow is based on your phone, which cuts off a the screen a little at the top and bottom for Dex and Windows. Have to resize windows to fit within the display area in Vive Flow. Cannot see taskbar on bottom for Windows, need to move taskbar to left side of screen. Just wanted to share that it technically possible, but wouldn't recommend projecting Windows to Vive Flow until a reliable technique can be determined. For productivity in the Flow, Samsung Dex has been easier to get working with Vive Flow. For phones that don't have Samsung Dex, pairing a bluetooth keyboard to your phone and mirroring your phone with productivity or writing apps is a simpler option.
  8. I'm not sure but, sounds like a similar to a similar Vive Flow forum topic: In the Vive Flow settings, there appears to be an option in Advanced to enable USB debugging, and installing unverified apps. But I don't know about developer mode. Is the problem that the Vive Flow can't get enough power when connected to your computer for the Vive Flow to stay on? Are you using the USB-C cable that came with the Vive Flow to connect to your computer? Just a few ideas. You might change your computer's Power Mode to Best Performance. Keep the laptop plugged in and charging (so not only relying on laptop battery which may involve throttling), when connecting a USB-C device. Use a USB-C hub that allows you to connect the hub to a power adapter such as a USB-C phone charger to deliver enough power to the Vive Flow while also being connected to the computer. Maybe check in your computer's settings if you can increase the amount of power output to the USB-C port (for example on Vaio computers you can set USB-C output to 1.0A or 1.5A). Another setting might be related to laptop power management, and throttling. Check for settings how to prevent throttling.
  9. That would be sci-fi to use a phone as a computer in VR as a virtual monitor. Using Dex with Vive Flow has been an interest in a few threads here in the forums. Here's how to get Dex working with Vive Flow so that it becomes more like a productivity device: Make sure to have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse paired with your phone, with both turned on. Using the Vive Flow start phone mirroring (Starts mirroring the phone like normal). Slightly pull the Vive Flow away from your face, to keep the Flow on and also see down at your phone. Then on your phone, disable phone as controller by swiping down from the top of the screen. Swipe down again from the top of your phone screen again to get to the Quick Setting buttons. On the Quick Settings buttons, swipe to the left (goes to the next set of buttons to the right). Turn off Smart View (then Vive Flow will try to look for something else to mirror from). Turn on Dex. Choose, DeX on TV or Monitor. When Dex detects Vive Flow, tap Start now. Lastly on your phone swipe down from the top of your phone to get to notifications, turn on phone as controller again. Back in the Vive Flow, use the phone as controller to change mirroring Dex from portrait to landscape, and enlarge screen. You can use your bluetooth keyboard and mouse to work with Dex like normal. Screen ratio, so close but not perfect The screen is cut off a little at the top and bottom, probably Dex is 16:9 but the Vive Flow mirroring my default to the phone's ratio of 20:9 (for Samsung S21). The Dex taskbar is not shown along the bottom when the Flow is mirroring in landscape, but the Dex taskbar appears when Flow is mirroring in portrait. Dex settings can't change aspect ratio when mirroring wirelessly. Just use your mouse to resize the windows in Dex to fit within the Vive Flow's mirroring display area. To open apps, you can press the Windows key on your keyboard, and type the app's name to find and open it. Maybe if enough people want to use Vive Flow for productivity, maybe the Vive Flow developers might add an option for Flow phone mirroring to set to display at 16:9 or a ratio different from the phone, to display the full screen of Dex. One day hopefully. Sounds like a lot of steps, but takes less than a minute. Hopefully the image provided helps.
  10. Reading small text is actually possible on the Flow. The screendoor effect is almost unnoticeable, and doesn't affect small letters as much as screendoor has on other headsets. Dark mode works well on the Flow because there are no god rays light blurring. White text on black bakground is solid on the Flow. 1600x1600 resolution is similar to an older headset, but with special lenses in the Flow it looks like every individual pixel is finally visible. The older headset's screendoor felt like a small checkerboard of every other pixel missing, which made small text very pixelated in the past. The Flow handles more detail and somehow looks like it has a higher resolution compared to other headsets with similar resolution numbers. While text on the Flow is not crisp like on a monitor, it makes reading text possible in a personal lightweight headset.
  11. Use a small phone to type with a keyboard on a big screen in VR. Focus to type email, read email, morning to do list, or write to concentrate in the flow. Bluetooth Keyboard paired with phone can type while mirroring app to flow. Move phone as mouse like laser pointer clicking menus, bold text, scroll. Open google docs, chrome, type in app while mirroring. Bluetooth mouse paired with phone will not work. Mouse click not recognized cursor, moves but cannot click. Only phone works as mouse. Mirroring latency when typing but get used to. Scroll jumps down a certain length. Select text with keyboard but not phone as mouse. Can switch horizontal or vertical app view using flow menus. Less screendoor than quest 1 text a little easier to read but not as clear as a computer screen. Turn on blue light filter on the flow helps reduce the bright white background while typing. Phone samsung a42 5g. Posted this while wearing the flow, mirroring chrome, typing on a keyboard. Use phone apps while using the flow.
