  1. Well I'm out. Packed it all up and returned it to Amazon as defective. I honestly hope Amazon returns it to to HTC so that they can deal with it. This isn't Amazons problem but I'm simply tired of waiting around for HTC to do something about this. Quest 2 for me until something better comes along!
  2. So here is my question. I've been following this *explicative* thread for FAR too long waiting on someone at HTC to get off their insanely comfortable lazy *explicative* rear-ends and FIX THIS *explicative* problem. I purchased my Vive Pro 2 from Amazon (Amazon was the seller) back in mid October 2022. Because Amazon started their holiday return season for anything purchased from October - Jan 31 I can return this thing. My question to all of you is - do I remove the lighthouses from my walls and pack all this hunk of crap up or do I continue to sit here like a lap dog and wait for someone at HTC to give a *explicative* about their customers and address this problem? I can play beat saber.....that's it. For everything else I have been forced back to my Q2 since I purchased my 4090.....MONTHS NOW. SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME ON HTC. More concentrated on releasing their crappy new AR headset no one with a right mind will purchase than addressing the issue completely BREAKING their only "pro" consumer headset. Excellent *explicative* idea. Bloody brilliant. So....RETURN? Or stick it out?
  3. I've been keeping up with the posts. I've been slowly working on a new PC build and am installing Vive software now to see if problems are persisting after essentially installing my 4090 in an entirely new PC. Fingers crossed.
  4. Playing Beat Saber again tonight I started noticing the blips on gpu frametime. Everything runs great until these little spikes occur. Anyway I noticed every time I got a spike on the gpu frametime log I would feel the environment stutter, and every time the environment would stutter my dropped frames would tick up by 1. I was just playing Forza 5 and I'm getting a lot of stuttering that feels very similar to what I'm experiencing in VR. Could we have bad cards??
  5. Just a thought but is anyone having these issues using a PCIE riser to vertical mount your GPU? I personally am and tried like hell this morning to get this big thing to mount horizontally but I just don't have the room in my case due to my loop.
  6. I've tested Half Life Alyx, Moss and No Mans Sky today on Ultra 90hz and got crazy high reprojection rates and still dropping frames just not as bad as before. Alyx was OK and somewhat playable if you could look past anything moving ghosting like crazy. Moss was somewhat playable but also ghosting; getting like 35-40 FPS. No Mans Sky was completely unplayable. Other titles that I've played for years aren't working either, titles with zero demand for any modern GPU, one called Tower Tag; it's completely unplayable as well. This is with a fresh install of Windows 10, completely up to date. All RGB controller type software off. I even updated the firmware on the card from Gigabyte's website and still no improvement. I also lowered the power-limit to 80% just to see if that perhaps made a difference. Nothing. I even tried changing XMP profiles and disabling XMP profiles, nothing. Something is definitely NOT ok. I'm considering trying to return my card already...this is getting friggin' stupid. Insane hardware costs from HTC, insane hardware costs from NVIDIA and we're months into the 4090 launch and no fix....heck, no WORD from anyone. 7. I'm finding other threads on different forums about people having similar issues with their 4090's in VR but it doesn't seem like anyone has any real answer to the crummy performance we're all seeing. Does anyone know if NVIDIA or Vive are aware any of this is happening? I reported an issue and got a very generic response from Vive to follow a bunch of steps that just glancing at them all seem like a total waste of time. I've reinstalled windows on a fresh SSD, new drivers and everything updated and the issues still persist. For the premium of this dang card I feel like someone should at least be acknowledging the issue. I got this thing specifically to improve VR performance and all it's done for me is cause problem after problem after problem.
  8. UPDATE: Changing to 90hz does seem to alleviate 98% of the problem. I do still have a persistent micro-stutter if thats a thing. Just an occasional blip of red where frames seem to drop drastically and very briefly. Ran Lizzo's About Damn Time beat map and had 5% reprojection and only 15 dropped frames.
  9. I just wanted to put myself on the list of recently afflicted. Noticed the problem the day I swapped out my 3080 for my new Gigabyte Windforce 4090. I, like others, just got done reinstalling windows on a fresh drive to avoid 22H2. I even went back to windows 10. Problem persists. I'm about to try switching to 90hz and see if it helps me at all. I was having 50-60 reprojection and thousands of dropped frames in a simple 1 map Beat Saber sessions. I had 50+ dropped frames sitting in Steam VR home for 1 minute, trying to stand still. Same test moving my head constantly produces FAR more dropped frames. I'm also noticing CPU utilization is practically nil. Is that normal?
