  1. I have had the exact same problem for the past several days, perhaps since the last update. Everything else works fine online. I can even search the store just fine, but trying to browser the store it says I have no connection.
  2. Well I think that is the problem. My original gasket doesn't snap in place. It looks like it is missing part of the piece in the center that should click into the headset. Does anyone else have this problem with the original gasket?
  3. Try out the new MR gasket! I just got it yesterday and it makes a world of difference. I hope Immersed improves their software on the XR Elite. It certainly has potential. I have tried playing with the scaling features to try and improve things with Immersed. Virtual Desktop looks so much better and shows how good it could be.
  4. I just got mine yesterday. It is so much more comfortable to wear! It works in glasses mode, but I would suggest putting an eyeglass strap of some kind on the arms to make sure it doesn't slip off and fall in more active use. I want to have the ability to have the rest of the world blocked out when in VR, but the MR configuration just feels so much better that it is going to be the main way I use my XR from now on. The support against your forehead on the MR gasket has a soft cushion as opposed to hard plastic on the inside of the fabric of the original gasket.
  5. The best comfort "hack" I know of is buying the brand new Mixed Reality Face plate. I just got it yesterday and it is vastly more comfortable than the original VR Face gasket that it came with. I could probably wear the MR Face plate all day without an issue. It even works in glasses mode without the battery pack attached, and while it does seem like it could slip off your face without the battery support behind your head, it stays on fine for normal VR use. For MR use at my desk, I might just put an eye glass strap on the ear pieces so if it does slip it won't fall. I could then hop out of MR and the real world, where I need to put my glass back on, very easily. My original face gasket never really stayed on properly. It magnetically attaches but it doesn't seem to click into anything. If the headset shifts up or down at all the original gasket slips off it's magnetic mounts. I really hope that they make a new VR gasket design based on the MR version. In the meantime, I might try and make a little shroud to fit around the MR gasket for more comfortable VR use.
  6. Calcanuck, I am using Virtual Desktop that is natively installed on the XR Elite, not the Steam version of Virtual Desktop. When using Virtual Desktop on the XR I imagine it would be similar to how you are using the it on your Quest 2. I literally just run Virtual Desktop from the XR and launch Skyrim VR from the Virtual Desktop menu and it just works.
  7. Can you share where you found a cable that fits? I haven't found anything small enough to fit in there yet.
  8. Virtual Desktop can play local video files if you choose to disconnect it from the remote PC! It just doesn't show you an option to browse locally stored videos if a PC connection is established. Once you transfer a video or movie over to the internal storage of the headset launch virtual desktop. If it has an active connection to a remote PC and you select Videos it will only show you the content on that PC. However, if you go to the Computers menu and choose Disconnect the locally stored videos will show up.
  9. I just wanted to update everyone on some tips on playing videos locally. The Viveport Video app does have a local file option. It isn't as feature rich as Virtual Desktop, which is wonderful but doesn't handle local files, or Skybox VR, which sadly is not available as a stand alone application on the XR. Viveport Video will at least let you repositon a video in the headset and it can handle 3D HSBS encoded files. To get up and running first you need to connect the XR to a PC and choose file transfer mode on the headset. You can also use various other methods to transfer files, such as a cloud syncing app, but this is the simplest. Copy the video files from the computer to the headset. Then disconnect and go back into the headset and launch Viveport Video. Select Local and you should be able to find your video files. The interface occasionally bogs down and isn't very responsive like Virtual Desktop, but it is serviceable for just watching movies that are stored in the headset. This is a nice option if you wanted to take a few movies with you to watch on a flight or while laying in bed.
  10. This is the opposite of what they are trying to accomplish. They want to transfer files to the headset to watch the movies standalone without a PC. Unfortunately, I do not think there are native standalone video players available for the headset yet. You can side load and install 2D video players such as VLC onto the headset, but the way 2D Android applications work on the Vive XR is certainly not optimal. The headset really needs improvements in running standalone Android applications. Something similar to virtual desktop except using local Android applications and video files is really needed.
  11. I initially had the exact same problem when I tried to play this using the native Vive streaming app. However, I recently tried again using Virtual Desktop and everything seemed to just work fine in Skyrim VR. I don't remember changing any settings or having to mess with the controller mappings, it just worked. I am not sure what else would have been different besides using Virtual Desktop to stream it instead of the Vive app.
  12. There was title update to the Wolvic browser and it has corrected the issue of the black screens with VR content. It now works correctly.
