  1. Hello everybody, This is not really a message for support but mostly to help others since I resolved my issues after many tryouts. I converted an Oculus Quest project (with dedicated sdk and all) to OpenXR to allow Oculus/Vive support. My old project was running smoothly on Oculus Quest without any issue. After reworking everything to work without any dedicated SDK and installing the proper packages (WaveXR, XR Plug-in Management) I tried to build on Vive Focus 3. The result was that the build was successful without any error. The unity logo started correctly and then I could see a single frame of my application before having a black screen and a lot of perfomances issues (I could hardly exit to go back to the menu). The app would generaly quit after 5 to 10 seconds to go back to the HTC menu (sometimes the audio of the app would stay). I tried many things and the resolution was actually super simple. On Oculus project it is required to go with Anti-Aliasing x4. On HTC Vive Focus 3 it seems that the Anti-Aliasing is simply not supported at all. So I just went into the URP settings and disable the anti-aliasing. Everything was done using : - Unity 2019.4.14f1 - Universal RP 7.5.1 (and 7.5.3) - XR Plugin Management 3.2.16 - Vive Wave XR Plugin 4.1.1 (and 1.0.1) I suggest that you add a critial error before any build to inform the user that Anti-aliasing is done directly by the SDK and cannot be added in the URP. Unity always display a warning when using Anti-aliasing with an Android platform. For Oculus Quest 1 and 2 and Pico 3 neo, Anti-aliasing is recommanded in build.
  2. I saw there was a similar post regarding the Asus Zephyrus G14, but thought I would make a post for those of us that just got the new Asus Zephyrus G15 GA503 and are trying to connect the OG Vive. Here's what we know so far: The HDMI Port on the G15 GA503 is NOT connected to the dedicated GPU, it's connected to the iGPU. Major bummer I know. So you can't use this port for the Vive. Both USB-C ports support Display Port for video out and ARE connected to the dedicated GPU. DON'T BUY a USB-C to HDMI cable to plug in to the Vive Link Box!!! You will get a black screen on the HMD. Doesn't work. Works fine if I plug the cable in to a HDMI-equipped monitor, but not for the VIve. The guy in this topic tried the same thing on his G14 and had the same experience. (If anyone has had success with one of these cables, please let me know) DO BUY a USB-C to Mini DisplayPort cable. Again, the guy in this topic tried this and got his HMD to work. Make sure it's mini display port, because the full size DP connection obviously won't fit. I'm not going to post the one that I currently have on order until I confirm that it's working, but there are a lot of options on Amazon. So there you go, just thought I'd drop this in the forum for anyone googling the same problem. Man, I forgot how much work it is to game on PC, sigh... Feel free to post your experience if you think it will help. Happy gaming!
  3. I am trying to connect my Vive Pro to a Dell G5 SE laptop, but the Vive will not display anything. The Laptop is not compatible with DisplayPort, so I am using a J5Create DisisplayPort to USB-C adapter. There are no SteamVR errors. The status light is green when the headset is on standby, but it turns red as soon as you pick it up.
  4. I got my Vive roughly two weeks ago, and have already come across an issue. Starting two/three days ago, upon connecting the power, the light turns green. Good. Then, upon starting up any program, the light goes red, and the display remains black. However, looking through SteamVR's VR view, the tracking is running flawlessly. leaving the headset perfectly still for a while prompts the screen back into life, but moving it shuts it down again. I have: Checked all cables are secure. Updated AND rolled back windows and drivers Attempted various methods of restarting the computer, SteamVR, and the Vive. Re-installed SteamVR AND Viveport and a lot more. I'm unable to check any cable-based issues due to being a jobless, social drop-out 15 year old who's broke after buying the Vive. @Synthesis @VibrantNebula
  5. I have been having issues with a black screen i checked the connection utility log and found the same data spikes before each crash. i thought it could have been due to overheating - it reaches 68 and above one thing which i am unsure about is peerSignalQuality which always reaches 255 before crashing, no matter what the temperature is what is this peerSignalQuality and can it cause blackouts? here is an exert from the latest crash:
  6. I recently upgraded to a wireless vive setup and all was good with the world until yesterday, the screen started glitching out and after multiple headset resets nothing changed. Tracking is working fine, i have nice little green light and the controllers are working fine to. I have swapped the original cable and the shorter wireless one and still nothing, the screens remain blank. If i cut the wireless adapter out and connect to the link box it all works fine with both the original and shorter wireless adapter cables. I have done a full PC reset, reinstalled every piece of software i own including the VR software which has made zero difference. Has anyone else experienced this? If they have what was the fix for you? I see people often ask for system specs so mine are CPU Intel Core i7 @ 3.70GHz 48 °C RAM 16.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1333MHz (19-19-19-43) Motherboard HP 8437 (U3E1) Graphics 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (HP) 39 °C @VibrantNebula @jagibson
  7. Hey, I finally got the HTC Vive through amazon brand new. I used it yesterday and set everything up and it was perfect. Today I come and try to hook everything up to get it going and everything is working but one of the controllers. They were both charging together but only one works. I'm confused since it hasn't even been 24 hours of me having it. I tried charging for another hour and reset and repairing everything. But there is still nothing happening with it. No led's no sound no connection no power. Please help Cheers
