Tausendberg
https://vrcover.com/contact/ One of the first things I did on my Reverb G2 was switch to an aftermarket facial interface that brings the lenses closer to the eyes, I do sincerely believe that a similar modification for the Focus 3 would lessen some of the lenses' shortcomings. I included a link to VR cover's contact page, simply cause if I figure if enough Focus 3 users write them, they might consider making some interfaces. evertec
I tried taking off the facial interface and putting just a cushion on to bring the lenses closer to my eyes. Helped a little, and made the fov a bit bigger, but the lenses are still just crap imo, super blurry and so many god rays.

GhostPsi
Quote Can say this work flawlessly for me on 1.4 awesome quality I would say its equivalent to the vive pro 2 and way better than the Valve Index you just need the horsepower and wifi to handle it. @C.T. Could we have an advanced tab added to the vive business tap that adds the options to change this on the fly?

Tausendberg
VBS could have a little warning message that altering the settings out of those bounds is unsupported, but if people are willing to take it into their own hands, then let them.
GhostPsi
Anyone noticed heavier fan sound when running the higher quality? My Focus 3 fan seems to be really rampant sometimes
GhostPsi
On 3/5/2022 at 3:13 AM, Raeldor said: I've found a way to get better quality in Vive Business Streaming, but it seems to come at the cost of what feels like dropped frames. If you want to try it out and gauge it for yourself, you need to edit the file 'QualityPreset.json' in the 'C:\ProgramData\HTC\ViveSoftware\ViveRR\RRServer' directory, NOT the 'c:\Program Files' directory. In the file, scroll down to the "FOCUS3" section and change "RS" from 1.0 to 1.4. Make sure you have closed down the Business Streaming app on the PC COMPLETELY before doing this. After you've made the change, save the file and restart the Business Streaming app on the PC and give it a try. I suspect at this point, the dropped frames can only be resolved by modifying the parameters of the encoder, or maybe changing the encoder completely. I would be interested to hear other's experiences after this change. So inside the Quality preset set "RX": 2448, "RY": 2448, This will be the maximum amount of quality streaming you can get anything more and i max out the video encoder I guess the RS is a multiplier, this setting will result in a maxed out Nvidia Encoder and also native resolution which will heavily improve text clarity. Tausendberg
You bring up a very good point as to why I think HTC doesn't allow people to drive the streaming resolution higher in the app itself. I currently run my headset at 2448 by 2448 and 200 mbps and even though I have an RTX 3090, if I use GPU-Z I can see that the built in hardware encoder is running at 85-90+%. I assume that slower cards, that bottleneck would be even tighter, and we're talking about a very expensive video card, I imagine HTC has done their market research and understands that very few potential buyers have such expensive video cards and so they'd rather limit it in software to 2048 by 2048 or else they'd be getting piles of tech support requests wondering why their performance is mysteriously being bottlenecked. The hardware encoders in 20 series and 30 series cards are very efficient, fast, and have low latency but they do have their limits. I would suggest that after the 40 series comes out later this year, which I presume will have an even faster hardware encoder, HTC offer an unlocked 'expert mode' within VBS that allows people to push the settings as high as they can get away with cause the kind of power users who will buy a 40 series card in 2022 will want to do that.
