HTC vive 108 issue evolved to headset not detected.

I have a original vive and played vtol vr perfectly then 2 hours later I started getting the 108 error with steam vr. I tried directly plugging into every usb on my system I reinstalled drivers and even a fresh install of windows but now all I get is a red light on my headset and steam vr is not picking up a headset at all. When plugged in windows makes the audio cue for usb device connected but no luck anyone have any insight to fix this or is he dead Jim.
