fhwedel-hoe Posted January 17, 2023 Posted January 17, 2023 Hi all I am a good consumer. I upgraded from the HTC VIVE Pre to the HTC VIVE Cosmos. Also, I am a stupid user: I kept my HTC VIVE Pre. Until I managed to mix up the power supplies. The Pre power supply can deliver up to 1.5 amps of current. The Cosmos however demands 2.5 amps. This is written on the underside of the power supplies. Since the old power supply cannot provide the necessary current, the Cosmos attached to it tries to power up. It even enables the cameras for pass-through, but ultimately there is not enough power for the Cosmos to actually work. The VIVE Console Software notices the HMD is plugged in, but fails to communicate correctly. The console shows this error: 009 The USB cable must be connected to a USB 3.0 or higher port on the computer. I understand the under-power situation is not easy to detect. The error message made me look in all the wrong places, though. Be better than me. Do not be stupid. Do not confuse your power supplies. Regards Hermann
