You need to have PD & 30W or up to use the headset without battery cradle. The question should be related to the type C port, we have tested multiple brands and models, but only the NV type C Virtual Link was able to actually provide enough power that XRE needs.
Pimpimmers Posted May 1, 2023 Posted May 1, 2023 I can use my XR Elite without battery direct connected to my PC (front USB-C) with the 5m VIVE Streaming Cable. Works without any problems. I have a Asus ROG Maximus Z790 Extreme motherboard. It have a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 PD 3.0 / QC 4+ support for up to DC 5V/3A 60W. Only works if you connect the 6-pin PD_12V_PWR connector on the motherboard. (It’s the same as a PCI-E 6-Pin GPU cable)

The XR Elite recognizes the ethernet connection as a tethered usb. It seems to be a bit picky on when to recognize it so just unplug and replug the ethernet cable for it to work. This is an ideal setup for me! Does it really work? It looks to me like you're doing PCVR wired streaming over ethernet (?!?!) with power delivery via USB-C (the red cable in your image) and a little USB-C female-to-female adapter to connect the hub to the XR Elite Pro in glasses mode. Is the Sandisk flash drive doing anything there? I've been desperate to get a wired PCVR streaming setup on my computer, which doesn't have a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 (USB-C 20Gbps) port but does have a spare USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 (USB-C 10 Gbps) and a spare ethernet. I'd be happy to power the hub with an AC wall adapter instead of the power brick. I just need the wired PCVR in glasses mode!
