BVV.Fr
there is a problem with the choice of the resolution. I thought it was just a problem of displaying the number, but no, I did a benchmark, I have twice the FPS in 2448x1224 that I had in 2448x2448 with the other versions of vive console. I tested in 4896x2448, I have 4 times less FPS... it's a big problem, basically you can't choose a correct equivalent horizontal and vertical definition anymore. for example 2448x1224 instead of 2448x2448 on steamVR or do you have a download link to download the 2.0.24.2 beta version please? SeleneWoS
I can second that. I was mildly puzzled to see the new resoution numbers. Before the Update, i was running at around 4000x4000, but not as a steady value, it shifted from SteamVR start to SteamVR start. ranging vom 3100x3100 to 4200x4200. After the update, the resolution tells me this: The image quality dropped in a few games, making aliasing more visible, the performance dropped in some cases, too. Nathan Gann
Yep same here. My steam VR resolution use to be symmetrical as in 7000x7000. But now the vertical resolution is always half of what the horizontal is. The visual quality of the Pro 2 has degraded tremendously after this update. There is no clarity now at all. Its as if the vertical resolution is staying static to half of the horizontal at all times, even after deleting SteamVR, Vive Console, Viveport and anything Vive or HTC related from my computer and reinstalling everything without installing the beta branch of Vive Console (I'm running the latest 2.0.23.2 public build now). My Vive Pro looks better than my Pro 2 now. Is there any way to fix this? Because like I said, no matter how high I crank the resolution in games, the headset seems like it is stuck in performance mode. This morning it was perfectly crystal clear, but no matter what I try now, after updating to this beta, the headset is just...Blurry...Fuzzy....low resolution looking. Not horrible, but definitely not what it was before. No clarity at all. Just scares me because I've tried reinstalling everything after a full delete of all the software, and avoiding this beta and now it just seems to be stuck with this resolution problem. C.T.
Sorry guys, we found an issue within this release. We will drop this beta ASAP and move to 2.0.24.4 ASAP.
Nathan Gann
Thank You! Just to clarify on my above statement, now that I'm not on the beta anymore, and its showing a symmetrical resolution again in SteamVR, such as 5676x5676, it looks as if its still only rendering half of the 5676 on vertical making the picture blurry/fuzzy. Looking forward to the next beta. Thank you guys
