Andreasmeow
Figured I should just start a new post. I was curious to know whether or not the HTC Vive Pro is compatible with the Intel Arc 770. I read on a post on reddit here that it works with the original HTC Vive, and there was a forum here years ago mentioning that intel arc support was added for the HTC Vive Pro 2 headset on the 3802 driver version for intel. I would just like confirmation that the Intel Arc 770 works out of the box with the HTC Vive Pro 1. I would greatly appreciate an answer, thank you. Andreasmeow
and here is the link to the reddit forum that brought up the HTC Vive working with the a770 https://www.reddit.com/r/IntelArc/comments/197t65a/comment/l3ilbba/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
VIVE_chengnay
Hi @Andreasmeow, What type of information you would like to confirm? For example, Vive Streaming or use SteamVR to play?
Andreasmeow
Just using Native SteamVR to play. To my knowledge I think the First Vives were Native SteamVR, then the next vives that came out(such as Vive Pro 2) required a Vive software to be ran on the side. The only headset i'd like confirmation on personally is the HTC Vive Pro1(NOT 2!!) and if it works out of the box with the intel arc 770. But!! Feel free to name any other headsets that may work because on a past forum on this site, it was that stated that the HTC Vive Cosmos would be supported in the next driver update(supposedly after intels 3802 driver update?), and I don't think we've gotten any update at all about that. So please, do name any and all compatible headsets supported by Arc!
Andreasmeow
Guess I probably should have sent the link to the specific forum that mentioned Arc 770 getting support. aswell as the hint to Vive Cosmos getting support(in the same post) Here it is: Please do let me know if there is any more information needed and don't be afraid to let me know about any potential delays as well. I wanna coerce as people, but I would also like to be kept updated on what's going on. Please get back to me whenever possible. Best Regards and Thank you! Andreasmeow
@algolgaming Hey sorry, so the person on reddit tried the 31.0.101.4887 version, aswell as the 31.0.101.5081 driver. You can find them on TechPowerUps website. Can you let me know what driver version you were using with the OG Vive? please get back to me whenever possible. Andreasmeow
@VIVE_chengnay Hey, is it possible for you or anyone else to do testing for this? Please get back to me whenever you can.
VIVE_chengnay
Hi @Andreasmeow, I can test Vive Pro 1 with Intel Arc 770, but not Gen1 Vive. I will update the result to you later.
Andreasmeow
@VIVE_chengnay Perfect!! that's all I need, myself. again i'll just state the driver versions that the person on reddit said worked. 31.0.101.4887 and 31.0.101.5081 which can be found on TechPowerUps website if needed. However the person on Reddit had the Limited Edition version of the Arc 770, so i'm not sure if there will be any difference between other board partners. I do wanna ask if you could also try intels latest drivers too? I just did a "Valve Index Test" by valve to see whether or not my computer is ready, and it didn't mention anything wrong about the Arc apparently, so it would be nice if you could let me know if the latest drivers(5590) work too. Thank you very much!
