TankGuy Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 Hello, I recently bought a used HTC Vive Cosmos. All equipment was in the box and I tested the headset on a friend's pc (the store I bought it from was some distance from my house). When testing on said friend's pc, we were able to successfully set up the headset, so I know it works. However, when trying it on my PC, it will not recognize the displayport. Once I get to the "searching for USB and Displayport" step, the USB is successfully recognized, but not the displayport. The displayport is directly connected to the graphics card so I know that is not the issue. Furthermore it immediately recognized the displayport on my friend's pc when I did the earlier test, so I know it's not a cable issue either. I had previously been using that displayport for a monitor so I know the port itself works. I have found many other people with the same issue but no solutions, so I'm at a loss. My PC specs are: Lenovo 3717 motherboard Intel i5-10400 CPU GeForce GTX 1660 Super graphics card 32 GB ram Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
TomCgcmfc Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 Your gpu is pretty weak for decent PCVR. It's approx equal to a rtx4050. Probably need at least a rtx4060 or better imho. Also make sure you have the latest nvidia driver and win10/11 updates.
TankGuy Posted October 6, 2024 Author Posted October 6, 2024 I've got the latest drivers and Win10 updates. As for the gpu, I agree and I'm starting to think it may be the issue, as the 1660 is listed as compatible but the 1660 Super is specifically absent. If I can't find any more solutions I'll probably just upgrade my GPU, I've been wanting to do so eventually anyways.
