C.T. Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Great news! The VIVE Focus Vision / VIVE XR Elite headset fully supports eye tracking in VRChat, both for PCVR and standalone versions. If you're facing issues with getting the eye tracking feature to work, please follow these steps to get started: Step 1: Install the VIVE Streaming Face Tracking Module and the VRCFT To use eye and facial tracking with the PC version of VRChat, you'll need to download and properly set up both VRCFT and VIVE Streaming Face Tracking Module simultaneously. This module works with VIVE Hub and VIVE Streaming to enable the necessary eye and facial tracking features on compatible headsets, including VIVE Focus 3, VIVE XR Elite, and VIVE Focus Vision. Under VIVE Hub, make sure that the "Eye and facial tracking data" option is enabled in the VIVE Streaming -> Input -> Stream VRChat via OSC section. Next, download the VIVE Streaming Face Tracking module from GitHub, you can install it by going to the Module Registry in the VRCFT sidebar. Then, click "Install Module from .zip" on the top banner (as shown in the picture). Make sure the toggle Tracking is on Blue which means VRCFT is activated tracking for avatars. ***For VRChat PC version users only, standalone version users can skip this step. Step 2: Enable the OSC Feature in VRChat Make sure that the OSC feature is enabled within VRChat. This setting is required for VRChat to receive facial and eye tracking data from your VIVE Focus Vision. You can access the OSC feature by long-pressing the menu button on your controller while in VR Chat. Look for the option on the menu wheel. This is a necessary step for both standalone and PCVR version VRChat. Step 3: Choose an Avatar that Supports VRCFT For the eye and facial tracking features to work, your avatar in VRChat must support VRCFT (VRCFaceTracking). VRChat provides detailed documentation on implementing VRCFT-compatible avatars, including shape and parameter references, which you can access through their VRChat Avatar References. While many of VRChat's default avatars near the mirror are equipped with basic eye tracking capabilities, please note that they may only support synchronized blinking due to initial design limitations. For a more comprehensive face and mouth tracking experience, VRChat recommends using avatars like Lunar Lizzy, a default character available on the VRChat platform. You can also find a list of free avatars compatible with eye and facial tracking here. What should I do if eye and facial tracking are not working properly after all the above setting? If you're experiencing problems with eye and facial tracking in VRChat, reset the OSC configuration. Here's how: 1. Press and hold the Y button on the left controller to open the Action Menu. 2. Select Options > OSC > Reset Config.
