Nessuno0505 Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Hi, I noticed that the battery drains very quickly when turned off, it seems absurd but it lasts much longer while in use (connected with wired kit). I tried removing the battery and it remained charged but it seems to have lost some settings. I keep it connected even when turned off, with the PC off but it did the same thing even if i disconnect the cable. Thanks
RobP Posted November 11 Posted November 11 You need to make sure it is properly turned off (easier said than done). I have had this happen to me a few times. I thought I had turned it off but I hadn't. Never had this issue with the Vive Focus. Normally you can tell by checking the white light front centre of the headset. The occasions I left mine on were only discovered after a flat battery, or when I go to put the headset on and it boots up straight into the main screen.
Nessuno0505 Posted November 12 Author Posted November 12 Thanks, today i discover that i never turn off the controller. Maybe this is part of my problem. Now i left the battery inside the visor and try.
RobP Posted November 25 Posted November 25 After around a month of use, I think this is a genuine bug. The last two or three times I have shut down the headset has resulted in an empty battery the following day. I guess the 'off' function is not working as expected? Never had this issue with the Focus 3. With that headset, you could turn it off and return several weeks later to the same battery levels.
RobP Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Had it happen again last night to. It seems that the battery off button doesn't always turn off the headset. I'm not sure what criteria it uses as sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. The only real way to find out is to put it back on again, press the button and see how quickly the headset boots up. If it is very quick, it never turned off. If it takes its time, it did turn off properly. I'm quite lucky as I have a ton of batteries from the Focus 3, but it is still disconcerting to put on a headset that was 100% the previous night and now won't start in the morning because it is completely drained of battery through not being turned off properly. Never had this issue with the Focus 3.
Beta_Tester Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Hi there. I've never had this issue. I always power off with the headset button. When you use the power button to switch off are you waiting for the LEDs to finish flashing before releasing?
jcricks1 Posted Wednesday at 07:36 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:36 PM I have the same issue with my battery. I also have the Flow, XR Elite, and the PRO 2 (setup for wireless). The Vive Focus Vision is the only unit that gives me issues with the battery discharging. I can fully charge the unit, then disconnect the charging cable and set the headset aside without turning it on. The battery will be discharged the next morning.

I have a Focus 3 and it is literally using the same batteries as the Vision, but the Focus 3 turns off properly, but the Vision doesn't. Pretty sure we are looking at a bug.
Beta_Tester Posted yesterday at 09:14 AM Posted yesterday at 09:14 AM Yes I am seeing the same issue here. I thought I was going mad! I was blaming myself for not charging or forgetting what level the battery was at on a previous session.
