Vive grip buttons staying triggered

I am heavily using the Vive grip buttons in my game, especially in a press and hold manner. About once per session, the grip buttons stay triggered, even when released. Since these buttons return 0 or 1, I'm confirmed it isn't a deadzone issue. 

Though I am using Unity, it seems that other people have encountered the issue in Unreal as well:


Is this a known hardware issue? Or is there another route I should be taking?
