nobackup
There is a constant small stutter with my vive that is driving me nuts. It looks like my reprojecting is causing it....for example it's at about 18-20 percent just standing around steam VR home. I have a good rig, i76700K, 1080 gtx, 32 GB RAM, i shoudl be getting a solid 90fps, so I don't understand where this lag is coming from. Latest drivers, minimal background tasks. Running the Steam VR beta, I tried with non-beta and it was the same. Also tried rolling back gpu drivers, but no effect. If I turn off reprojection it's a stuttery mess. Any ideas? Synthesis
Are you running asynchronous reprojection or interleaved reprojection? You shouldn't be running both at the same time, so if you are, please disable one. Thanks, -John C
nobackup
HI john, thanks for the quick reply. I only have asynchronous reprojection checked, interleaved is not enabled.
Synthesis
Gotcha. Try switching to interleaved and unchecking asynchronous and see if that makes a difference. Thanks, -John C
nobackup
Yep, no difference. I noticed NVIDIA had some new drivers out, so I just installed them - and the re projection rate dropped to about 10%. So maybe it's a driver issue. It still seems high though, and I notice it when I turn my head. Any other ideas?
Synthesis
Could well be the driver then. Try rolling it back to the previous version. Thanks, -John C
nobackup
Yeah...I've tried multiple different older drivers, but the most recent on gives the best performance. And when I say best, I'm sitting at 10-12 percent reprojection. =(
Synthesis
Weird idea: Try turning off the camera. Sometimes that can interfere with it, but your system should be more than capable of handling Vive. It wasn't always this bad right? Thanks, -John C
nobackup
camera is off. and it I just checked my GPU in task manager and it's sitting at 40% in steam vr.....seems quite low. Is there a log file or something I can send you to take a look at?
Synthesis
Yes, you can create a system log through SteamVR, but I don't know if the data it records will be useful for this purpose. Worth a shot though. Thanks, -John C
