Lojack
Greetings fellow virtual reality dwellers! I have an issue I want to resolve. I don't like the sound of vive's built-in microphone, so my goal is to use headphones. My question now is if I can use my 3.5mm headphone microphone with the Vive's audio jack or do I need to get a usb headphones, which I really don't want to do :S Thanks in advance! Synthesis
You absolutely can use your own headphones with Vive's audio jack, however, as you might have noticed, there's no port for an extra microphone. Ultimately, if you want to use your own microphone, you'll need to connect it via USB.Thank you, -John C
nothingfin
Can i use a 3.5mm combo jack to use the microphone on my headset? Is the vive audio cable 2 way?
HackPerception
- While the short breakout cable is TRRS, the actual port on the HMD itself is only TRS so you won't be able to piggyback headset's microphone off of the audio jack. As stated, a bluetooth or USB solution is the easiest route.
