talos
What is stopping me from doing what it says in the subject? I've read that the vive pro is compatible with the vive controllers and motion sensors. If it's not possible, why not?
HackPerception
, Nothing is stopping you from doing this but it's critical to note that we're only selling SteamVR 1.0 basestations and controllers as of this posting. We'll have more info about SteamVR 2.0 very soon. If you purchase 1.0 basestations and controllers, be aware that if you want to upgrade to 2.0 basestations in the future, you'll also need to upgrade to 2.0 controllers. As of this morning, we've announced a new Vive Pro SKU that has SteamVR 1.0 basestations and controllers that will be cheaper than if you purchase the HMD and the components separately. You can read more about that SKU on today's blog post. In short, the package will be $1099 and contain everything required for a new Vive user to run the Vive Pro on 1.0 tracking. We will start accepting orders for the new SKU on the 5th.
