Viveport desktop app stuck on "Aquiring Content"

After logging into the desktop app, the message "Aquiring Content" is displayed and stay up indefinitely.   The progress bar below the message does not move either.  There are no other menus or options to choose from.

I have tried quitting and restarting the app a few times and even rebooting the computer.  Any suggestions?
