Castana
Hi All I am evaluating in building VR Projects/App with HTC Vive and IMac. Since that my budget is not so big to buy one IMac Pro, I read that 27- inch iMac Retina 5 K is ready to HTC Vive headset for developing . Is it true? If it is not true, Could anybody advice about any Mac more inexpensive than iMac Pro and HTC Vive compatible Thanks for your time Castana Ps. Sorry for my little English
Emexrulsier
I believe it works, but not perfect or seamlessly, I seem to recall that you can't use this 5k imac nativelly because it doesn't have HDMI output. You have to use a USB-C to HDMI but it doesnt always "just work". The GPU in the machine also isn't the best. SteamVR works but isn't really supports, so pair that with poor gpu performance and you sadly may have a working VR machine but not an ideal machine. vr_JL
Hi Castana If I were you I’d save up for the iMac Pro. You need that power! I have one and VR works well in Mac OS and Windows 10 via the Bootcamp emulator. Best of both worlds!
