roylt1082 Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 Is anyone use the new Nvidia 2080 or 2080 Ti's with there Vive or Vive Pro? I'm looking to upgrade to the 2080Ti but I want to know if I need to wait.
SuperNikoPower Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 Hi , At the moment, the 2080/2080Ti doesn't do too much to increase your VR experience. At least for now. I've had some experience running higher end VR titles on a PC running a 2080 and didn't notice much of an increase at all. Depending on what you have now, you can probably stick with it for the time being.
roylt1082 Posted October 3, 2018 Author Posted October 3, 2018 Thanks for the heads up. I'm just trying to make sure when I order on its going to work with the drivers that is has on the wireless adapter.
HackPerception Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 , The RTX line works with the wireless adapters. The key for the wireless adapter is to verify you have a free PCI-E port (1x is most preferred follow by 4x) and a fast enough CPU to handle the additional overhead. (If you have a Ryzen CPU - I would recommend holding off on a purchase as we investigate the behaviors that other customers are reporting.)
Jharrelson Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 I have the 2080. It runs the Vive pro fine, however I can't enable motion blur reduction because it doesn't recognize my hardware as new enough ...
HackPerception Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 , what does it say? Does it just not allow you to check the box? Does it have any error messages. You may want to post on the SteamVR community about that to flag Valve.
