Error 208: Headset not connected properly - Only over wireless.

I can not for the life of me get SteamVR to recognize the display in the headset, over wireless. SteamVR can see the actual headset, but it can't see the two monitors. Everything works normally using the standard wired connection. 

I have done seemingly everything, including installing a fresh copy of Windows 10. I have the absolute latest graphics, chipset, USB drivers, and even the freshest install of the BIOS. I have tried both the safe build of Steam VR as well as it's Beta.

Edit: I am now fairly convinced that this is an issue between my motherboard, it's USB drivers, the chipset, and of course, the Vive Wireless Adapter.

In the same boat. I was with tech support for hours, they deemed the wireless unit defiective. Paid to send the unit back. The new one they sent me had the same 208 error. Its not defective just doesnt work on my system....horrible thing is THEY WILL IN NO WAY REFUND ME MY MONEY.

 

I'd try the live chat. theyll run you through a few hours of doing this and that. At the end they may deem it as defective (its probably not). Hopefully you can get it working. If you do definatly let me know.

 

you only have 14 days from purchase to figure this out or your stuck with something that doesn't work as I am

Thanks. I've read over that thread a hundred times, along with pretty much every similar thread across the internet.

I'm hooking my headset back up to the wired connection. I ordered the Vive Deluxe Audio Strap from Amazon and they sent me the Wireless by accident instead, so unlike everyone else, I'm only out $100 - guess I'll retry the wireless connection every now and again and hope it starts working.

I've had no such luck. The wireless adapter software still detects the headset, but Steam VR fails. I tried all your instructions and have nothing. I'm on the latest Steam VR Beta and the latest Nvidia drivers.
