Vive wireless PCIe 3.0 but shows 2.0

What ASUS says they are and a link:

Z170-E specs

My current processor and installed memory

I tried forcing 3.0 in my BIOS settings and changed it to that but it still shows up as 2.0 in windows thus I'm only getting 5.0 GT/S.   I also just updated my BIOS today to the latest version.

I also tried switching cards around from the small connector 1x to one of the 16x connectors and in different locations.  All with the same results.

Performance is ok.  MY CPU utilization is quite high but not always at 100% (70-90%).  I can run VR but it isn't as good as it was wired.  There is a bit of microlag.  I just want to get this card to run at 3.0 not pcie 2.0.  What is going on?

Thanks for any suggestions.  I just bought this yesterday and am still looking into solutions.  It's runable and I'm keeping it because in a year I'll be getting a new motherboard and CPU anyway.

I got the same thing in device manager (0000002) yet I'm starting to wonder how accurate these numbers are.  HWiNFO64 shows my GTX 1080 running on version 3.0 while the device manager is showing value 00000002.  The same program, of course, shows 2.0 for the WiGig card no matter where I put it and of course 00000002 in the device manager.

I also had the WiGig card in the same slot which shows version 3.0 for the video card currently.

BIOS is set from Auto to Gen3 now.

I'm starting to wonder if the BIOS won't run this card on Gen3 because it's not a video card or it won't run two devices on gen3 at the same time.  Or it's running on Gen3 but being shown in windows incorrectly as Gen2.  Lastly, maybe the PCI Express lane speed doesn't even matter and something else is the bottleknock. Or this card runs as Gen2 only.

Bump.

Exact same issue.  HWInfo shows the Wigig card running at PCIE 2.0 instead of 3.0, even with 3.0 as the forced method in BIOS.  GPU is confirmed as running at 3.0.

Can we get a response from HTC on this?  With 3.0 forced as the default method, the card should be running at 3.0, and it's most definitely not.

Did anyone ever find a solution to this? I'm currently having the same issue.

10900k processor, 2080ti (running in pcie3.0), Asus ROG Maximus XIII Hero z590 mobo.

My wigig card no matter what I do will not show up as v3.0 and I'm getting poor performance with Vive Cosmos Elite wireless. Runs flawless with wired setup.

Pretty sure that the Vive wireless adapter pcie card is only gen2 so don't expect it to report pcie 3.0.  In the past some (including myself) have changed bios settings from auto to gen3 because this sometimes improves stability.  But it does not change the card to pcie 3.0.  I believe that this would require an updated wireless card.
