Error 208/Headset display not found

I've had this problem for a while now and I've tried pretty much every solution I can find. According to the vive setup program it can detect my usb fine and the headset is recieving power but its unable to recieve a display signal despite me changing both the cable linking the link box to the pc and using a seperaste hdmi to connect the headset to the link box. Ive updated and reinstalled all my drivers and steamvr multiple times with no effect. I honestly have no idea what to do next as ive tried every solution I can find and nothing seems to work. If anyone has any idea as to whats happening or any suggestions please reply to this.
