USB Connection not recognized (PCVR streaming over cable)

I have followed the instructions out lined on the Vive Business Streaming Site and my headset is not allowing streaming over a USB cable.

My USB iconon my PC is grayed out (as described here: https://business.vive.com/us/support/vbs/category_howto/starting-a-usb-streaming-session.html )

Looking in headset, when I plug the USB cable in, an alert pops up that says

"Choose USB Mode

[vive connect icon] Vive Business Streaming

[no entry icon] Take no Action"

Only the "Take no action" item is selectable.

I am using an Oculus USB Link Cable (USB 3): https://www.amazon.com/Oculus-Virtual-Reality-Headset-Cable-Gaming/dp/B081SHD773

Please advise.

Thanks!

Adam

Thanks, can you get into msinfo32 and screenshot this page for reference?
I don't too many experience with AMD CPU laptop, this will help me identify the problem.

Thanks for the information, unfortunately we do have a few compatibility issue on some of the USB chipsets.
We will address and get it covered in the future FOTA updates.

ugh, what would be a realistic ETA on that?

Had planned to use the Focus 3 on a project, but maybe should punt until this gets sorted?

@shinkaze Out of curiosity, why is USB2.0 support your limitation? You need a rather modern PC to remotely handle the resolution of Focus 3 and the odds of that motherboard having USB3.x  is overwhelmingly in your favor. Also, there's WiFi streaming as an alternative.

The only situation in which it would likely make sense are in Laptops, and even then - you'd be pretty hard pressed to find a modern laptop without USB3.x.

??? Uhm, I don't have USB 2.0?
This is a brand new 3080 RAZER 14 laptop with

  • 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A Ports
  • 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C with Power Delivery and Display Port 1.4

The Wifi streaming is unusable, but that might be our studio wifi.
