@Keane0411 - thanks for your question. Not weird at all so no need to apologize.

From my current understanding, that function to use a fixed cursor on the HMD with no controllers is not available. I know exactly what you're asking about cause this is something available on 3DoF headsets. I'll double check with engineering team and submit as a feature request. Just be mindful that this may fall later in the pipeline if they choose to add as they're focused on improving the tracking experience 🙂

    Thank you,

    Steve

Hey, maybe i can connect a Bluetooth keyboard and use the keyboard instead of the controller when i watching movies?

  2. Hey, I have a question. There is a way to not use the controllers while watching movies?, I mean, there is a way to activate some pointer / cursor instead? like i look with my headset and when i want  to click on something, i use a button on the headset to choose what i want.

for example, if i watch a clip and i want to go and watch other clip, so instead of using the controller, i use my head to search the new clip and use some button on the headset to choose the clip.

maybe i can activate this on steamvr? or there is a movie player with this feature?

i'm new to vr so if this question is weird im sorry.

This may be the case depending on what platform you use to view your movie experience. There may be some that let you re position the movie screen's size, position, and orientation.

    Thanks,
    Steve

hey, do i have to setup the floor and the space for gaming to watch movies too? or i can just skip the setup and go straight away to watch movies?

A re-centre button lets you re-centre yourself in 3D.  Pretty hard to explain unless you see this with the Oculsu re-centre button imho.

for expamle, if i started to watch a movie while i seat or stand, so everything will be fine. but if i wants in the middle of the movie to lay down in bed, so i wont see the movie becasue you can see the movie while you look straight? sorry for my english, hope u'll understand

Actually, watching a movie might not be all that easy because the Cosmos currently does not have a re-centre button.  So, you may have a problem lining up the movie's orientation, esp. if you want to watch it on a recliner or in bed.  I'm not a big fan of watching movies in VR although I do watch a few with my Oculus Go because it is easy to re-centre and does not have a knob on the back of its headstrap.

what re-centre button mean? i'm sorry for the noob questions, im new at this

    Hi Keane0411,

    for 300€ don't hesitate
the problems described will be fixed I have no doubt htc has already made great efforts so far

    That's my opinion.

    Hey, thanks for the answer.

Can you also answer about the 2 other questions?

Those problems that mentioned, they only effect the games? or also i will have those issues if I just watch a VR movie? Also, if I watch a VR movie, can i do that in any distance i want?

  7. Hello guys, first of all i want to apologize in advance for my English.

So, i know a guy who knows a guy, so I can buy the new htc cosmos for 300$ (don't mentioned other products because in my country, its hard to get them) . I know that the cosmos have problems, even though i dont know what those problems even means because i'm new to the whole vr thing.

So, the last time I used vr was on the GEARVR on my old Samsung phone, I never used vr on pc. and I wanted to ask:

    1. In general, for 300$, it worth to buy the cosmos even with all the problems (which probably will be fixed in the future, right?)?
    2. the problems that everyone talks about is only on games? or it will be effect me even if i will watch a movie?
    3. When i watching a movie, can i do that from any distance i want to or i need to stay close to the pc? there is a distance limitations? I read online that when you want to play a game, you need to stay in space that you define when you setup your vr, right? so in movies, its the same like in games or can i watch movies in any distance from the pc i want?

    Thanks for the help 🙂
