    It's not the software developers that are to blame necessarily, it's whoever's idea it was to use visible light spectrum to do everything instead of using infrared for the controllers like they should have.

    The problem is a hardware problem. There is no way to fix it.. @lam0218 is absolutely right they should have done a recall.

    To be honest it's also my fault for not doing better research on the product. I've heard nothing but good things about this companies' prior products and service, so I went on a bit of faith they'd surely keep going up. I suppose this was a lesson for me as well. Definitely not trusting these people anymore until some serious progress or compensation is made. The price point honestly blows my mind for the quality. Still cannot use the headset BTW, just refuses to track anything, tried pretty much every fix I could look up/improvise.

  2. So to keep things short, sweet and to the point. This headset has been NOTHING SHORT of a total god damned nightmare. Upon initial purchase. It would not work period, let alone track anything unless the lighting was literally studio quality. Finally, after some time collecting dust and some updates later, it was SOMEWHAT usable. After more time had passed, and updates, it was at least a decent headset, though VASTLY OVER PRICED!

    Now? A recent update completely broke the headset and it's back to being totally unusable yet again. God what I wouldn't give to just get my money back and get a headset that the developers actually gave two-shits about. What a shame.

  3. A recent update completely fucked my headset and now it refuses to track anything. I can't even get into my environment or room tracking set up. Honestly, I wish I did more research about this headset before buying it. It's been nothing short of a nightmare. Sadly probably too late for me to return it now.

    I think this patch broke something.

    I decided to clear environment information after this patch, because I heard that it's good for tracking. Anyway, now I can't complete the room setup! I'm stuck at setting floor level. Controllers say that they are not tracking and they just blinking rapidly. And if I press a trigger on of the controllers a floating line shows up. That line usually comes from the controller in the room setup, but it just floats at random place.

    I already tried things that helped before this patch: I cleared environment information, made a headset reset, I tried unpairing and pairing controllers, reinstalled vive cosmos software, I even tried to switch batteries in controllers just in case - none of that is working! It's worth noting that before this patch I sometimes had similar issues with setting floor level, but they were fixable by measures mentioned above. Maybe there is a way to roll a firmware version back?

    Yup, this is still happening to me too. Just got my Cosmos today. Worked just fine for a few hours, but the very moment my environment got the slightest, barely even noticeably darker, my controllers experienced the same thing. Despite my attempts to add proper lighting for the cameras. As well as doing what you tried too. Hope we get a fix. O_O;
