  1. headset - vive cosmos elite

    controllers - (basic) vive controller

A few days ago my left controller became jittery after generally no issues. Some troubleshooting revealed it to be the 'assigned' left controller when I boot up.  I tried the following troubleshooting:

    search for controller updates

check for reflective surfaces → 10-20 but it should affect both controllers or depend on the direction I'm facing, not the case.

    unpair all via command prompt

    turn off nearby bluetooth devices

change broadband wi-fi frequency to 5ghz

    search for GPU/windows 10 updates

    search for steamVR updates.

Tracking was not an issue when I plugged the controller into the computer itself - so probably USB band width. Changing the usb socket on the motherboard for the headset didn't resolve the issue.

Then the vive console (software) tried to update and produced an error message:

"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable

Click ok to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'ViveportDesktop.Package.x86.msi' in the box below"

    entered the target folder "C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\{DEF64A82-DD6A-4199-A874-93E8ABAB51C9}v1.4.10.7\" → it's empty!

search the file name 'ViveportDesktop.Package.x86.msi' → no results

Searched the forums → uninstall and reinstall is HTC's advice.

    uninstall everything.

I'm now trying to reinstall viveport - I get the same error message above ↑

I try the vivesetup  → "sign into your account" → SGNGX: File not found (404)

brief search for individual file(s) yielded nothing.

this forum is a mess. I'm out of ideas.
