It is exclusive to the Vive rear battery only.  The Vive cannot distinguish between an external battery or a power brick being plugged in, it just knows it has power.

Those Vive battery cradles aren't cheap, I could get a 737 for less.

Does the XR Elite have some kind of mini battery like the Flow where it stays on after it dies (or gets unplugged) for just a few minutes to allow you to hotswap without shutting off?

This hub from Amazon works very well with a wired ethernet and power delivery.  The XR Elite recognizes the ethernet connection as a tethered usb.  It seems to be a bit picky on when to recognize it so just unplug and replug the ethernet cable for it to work.

For a portable solution I purchased the Anker 737  power brick.

I leave my actual use experience.

    1. PCVR wired streaming connection and power supply available in glasses mode.
When using the USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C Port on the back of the X670E motherboard.
※ A separate USB hub is not required.

    2. 18W GaN charger direct connection available.

    3. Powerbank battery direct connection available.
(However, there was a phenomenon where the screen went dark very occasionally, but when I unplugged and plugged in the cable,

          it brightened again)

When I checked with the power measuring cable, in glass mode
Typically consumes less than 10W of power.

When charging the battery cradle, it only charges at a rate of 30W.
It is misleading to say that 30W power is required in actual use.

I suppose I'll ask you two the same question; Is there a low battery warning in the device when the external battery is going dead or this somehow exclusive to the Vive rear battery strap?

To provide power in glasses mode I use an External battery pack.  I have tried 2 that seem to work ok; the Vive 21w 10000mahr pack I bought previously from Vive and a Romoss 30w 10000mahr pack I recently got from Amazon.  Both seem to work well.  Maybe the 30w pack gives a bit longer runtimes (~3.5 hours).  The ser guides say you can use a 30w wall charger but I haven't tried this yet.  No PC usb port that I'm aware of is going to supply enough power imho.

Also, for PCVR in glasses mode, you can only do this wireless, not wired with a usb3 link cable.  Works pretty well for wireless PCVR with an external battery pack.

Keep in mind you can also use your headset battery as an external battery, and in that case you can connect it to your PC with a link cable attached to it.  Just kinda hard to find a place to put it, lol!

Question: Does it have a low battery warning with an external battery pack when it's going dead?
