Input delay on Vive Cosmos

I was testing the Cosmos (SteamVR) with our game Tentacular https://www.tentacular.com/ when I encountered some strange behaviour when throwing stuff. 
Arrows show velocity vectors on release which are combined to calculate the velocity of the object thrown.

I didn’t understand the behaviour of the rockets when using the Cosmos at first. But it seems to me that the release event happens with a delay.
Could be just 2 or 3 frames of delay at that velocity. Would explain why the release gets triggered too late in the throwing arc when the arm is pointing down again.
This doesn't happen for any other supported headsets. Can anyone else confirm this behavior?
