nooodle6 Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Hi everyone, I recently recieved an HTC Vive as a birthday gift, and over the past few hours this night i've been struggling to properly set it up. Since I do not own a Displayport - Display mini cable yet (it comes on sunday, ordered on amazon), I have been using splashtop to stream my desktop to my macbook so I can configure steamVR. I've already downloaded the Vive software, and whenever I try to launch VR Room setup, it just loads on endlessly. Does anyone know of a fix to this? Is it because I am using splashtop? Please let me know, thanks.
Synthesis Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Quite possibly, that's definitely not a recommended set up. I'd recommend you wait for the displayport cable and set it up directly. Thanks, -John C
HackPerception Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 , Were you able to get everything set up once you had the adapter?
nooodle6 Posted October 30, 2017 Author Posted October 30, 2017 Unfortunately not, I dont think my graphics card supports the use of displaport on the HTC Vive. I bought a display port to hdmi adapter, so i can use my hdmi on the drive. I was able to get my room setup by calibrating the room through developer settings on steamvr, instead of using the room setup app.
