shahar1 Posted May 31, 2018 Share Posted May 31, 2018 I am working on a non-Steam application that uses the Vive Pro for display and positional tracking, and takes input from a standard gamepad. Does the Vive Pro support room-scale positional tracking without the controllers? I am unable to complete room setup in Room-Scale mode without them (see screenshot below). HackPerception Posted May 31, 2018 Share Posted May 31, 2018 , while you technically can use SteamVR without controllers, the consumer facing GUI to calibrate roomscale does indeed require controllers to capture user input. You can get around this limitation by going into SteamVR's settings, going to the developer tab, and scrolling down until you see "quick calibrate" under "Room and Tracking". Quick calibrate only requires an HMD. You can also just use standing setup and ignore the chaparone or you can swap in an existing room configuration if you have access to one.
