AOL Desktop Gold software comes with Automatic update feature which saves the time-consuming process to Download AOL Desktop Gold latest version on the computer. But when this feature stops working, then you should follow these steps to enable automatic update feature again:

• Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc which will open the task manager, close all the running programs on the computer. After that restart the computer.
