vive pro issues when wireless

Recommended Posts

Whenever using the vive pro wirelessly they are micro stutters, visual artifacts and frame tearing on the headset but not in the vr view. Plugging in the vive causes it to work with no problems.

Launching steam vr will sometimes result in error 306, which is solved by restarting the pc. Launching steam vr will occasinaly prompt an update for the headset, I have tried this update several times and it doesn't appear to do anything.

In the steam vr home app it is 22% when plugged in and 46% when wireless. The problems when wireless are recent and have only happened in the past month.

Many thanks

- another thing would be to clean install a previous Nvdia driver (usually aim for a few versions behind the current). You can use this page to access the driver archive. When running the installer, use the advanced setup and opt for a clean install - this is an important step.

The types of cases where "it used to work fine then suddenly stopped" are super tricky to pinpoint because it usually indicates a software problem and your PC is a rather dynamic environment. Based on your description, the GPU driver or the OS are what I immediately suspect followed by SteamVR which is also a tricky to troubleshoot in and of itself.
