  1. Very intrasting information. It means , that it doesn't conect with the software ver. Bad news for me, that HTC hadn't been able to solve this problem for 5 months.  I think, this problem must be a task of honor for them. In my opinion, it's time for us to say potential buyers about this unsolved problem, before they spent a lot of money. It's time for us to write a lot of posts about this situation with Vive in many palces, were it's selling. If i knew about it before, i wouldn't buy it, before the problem won't solve.

  2. Another one of many sad users of HTC Vive. Honestly I packed it back in box. I'm just waiting HTC will solve this problem. I thing , i'm close to turn it back to the shop and buy Oculus. I spent a lot of money to gadget wich develop team can't solve obvios problem during several months.  HTC , just be honest, say us, it's warranty case. We will send you bad HDM and you send us back normal, and everything will be ok.

  3. Tryed with beta steam, but all the same, after sensors temperature became 40-41, the problem appeared.

This situation so sad, my Vive so expensive and so useless. HTC , tell please, is this a warranty case? will the new Helmet solve this problem?

  4. Good idea. I wanted to ask the same.

HTC staff, please, write here links to firmware, steam, steam vr , driver for nvidia. All version of this must be from February or first 10 days of March. As I noticed, before the middle of March all was OK. We will try use this.

  5. There is an interesting way to temporary fix it in Russian forum.

Firstly , when the gray flashing start, you need to find the sensor, which overheated by closing one sensor after one, till the gray flashing over. After you find bad sensor, you must cover it by something (adhesive tape for example). that's all. People said, that with this lifehack you'll have some add time to play Vive :)

But, nevertheless, it terrible, that we have to do the things like this, to use so expensive gadget in almost normal way.

  6. Well:

    1. my manufacture date is 02.2017

    2. The problems had started, I think, in May

    3. About environment wrote before "I made a test. Firstly I started play in game (battle dome) before game temperature of front panel Vive (around the camera) was 28-32 Co, after 15 min it became 38-41, in that moment the flashing started. Then, I left Vive (without turning it off) close to cold accumulator for 30 min. After that the temperature was 23-26. I played the same game for 30 min (a little bit more, than last time, because the start temperature was lower) and flashing came back. I checked the temperature of the front panel, it was 38-41."

During this test nothing else around me changed, there wasn't any other impacts or something else, which can make the flashing.

  7. I and, I think, other owners of Vive don't happy about testing different ways of this problem. It so bad, that we must do it, because our Vives became just gadget for 20 min fun. We can't even show our friends, how cool it is. More over, my children lost interest for Vive. I absolutely agree with you, HTC could fix this problem many times ago. It's their responsibility. The have opportunity, the have resources, they have time to fix it, or tell us, that we can change our Vives to normal.

    p. s. I bought Vive 2 mouth ago. In DNS shop in Russia, Tyumen city. Vive with one single cable.

So, I think, it's spoilage.
