It uses DisplayLink technology to basically pull data from the GPU's frame buffer and transmit it over the wireless which, I believe, is encoding a virtual USB connection. Your GPU is still doing the rendering, it's just sending it through the PCI Bus to the WiGig instead of out the HDMI/DP ports.
