  1. Today I tried new drivers - 551.52 and still the same. Error 224 (Vive Console shows error 224 (too many displays)). So I can play only with some old one and no the new ones. Will someone solve this at HTC or you realy stop to do anything?

    p.s. I have connected only one monitor and one linkbox (HTC VIVE PRO 2). But it is working on old drivers and no on minimum last two new.

  2. Today I started play Audioshield and screen flashing, tearing again like in time when you solving the Nvidia pipeline update etc. So I try several restarts, settings, nothing helped. So I download nvidia drivers 551.23 and it stop working completely.

    Console says to I have to many monitors. I tried everything. Beta console, beta steamVR, normal console, normal steamVR. Several restart. Disconnect usb, restart headset. One hour of works and nothing.

    Really not happy that every month minimum one time with automatic update of steamVR I get some problems/console/steamVR. This technology for so many years is still total crap. Simple thing like update ViveConsole not working properly - i have to restart it several times to start it.

    Last fex months when I starting link box and console vive started - then no steam started. I have to do it manualy and again solving problems.

    Today it was really last time - I will buy xxx oculus and will be happy to play one simple game insted of solving Vive console and steam vr problems.

     

    BTW - When I downgrade to Nvidia 546.33 today it starts ok and no problems. No tearing, flashing and no console saying to many monitor. I can play after almost two hours. Super software.

  3. So I have tested Audioshield insane speed, Beatsaber all speeds, Half-life Alyx on ultra graphic. And everyting super. No problem. In console maximum resolution and 120.

    In steam VR I tried to change resolution from 20% to whatever and no difference. Next time I will make screens. It is possible to change it on two places - I tried both and nothing happen. 11000x11000 and still same like the total basic. I think Vive console is going on their own resolution and does not care what is set up in SteamVR.

  4. I tried today. All updated on max betas. 120Hz max resolution total bad, even in lobby VR background is shaking. Then I tried 90Hz max resolution and still not best. In Beatsaber did not see problems, in Audioshield it was not good. It was worse then cca 1 month ago when I played on 90Hz with no problems.

    About the SteamVR resolution etc. I try the lowest resolution/120 in vive console and if I go to steam VR resolution there is again and again 150% (6K x 6K). I think it does not mean anything. But I realy appreciate if HTC can tell us what best we have to set in Steam or in Vive Console to play with possible best hardware and can enjoy it.

    Almost  half and year. OMG.

    p.s. I tried lowest headset from another company this week, just the standalone thing and I was realy pleasantly surprised how nice it worked. No computer, nothing need to play. And it was basic standalone headset. OMG.

    HTC you can produce whatever ever, and I will never buy anything from you. Shame on you.

  5. So, I tried to download this newest beta Vive Console 2.1.23.1

    Then I changed resolution in console to Extreme 4896x2448 120Hz and even in Vive room - snow wooden hut - the walls rippled like in Matrix as I looked up and down. Uff.

    So I changed to Ultra - 4896x2448 x 90Hz and walls - OK!

    So I have just tried Audioshield on Insane mode (special mode - very fast - not in basic game) and it was OK!!! SUPER.

    In this fast mode I had to play only at 2448x1224x120 to have it "OK" on previous Beta Console.

    So some improvement. Maybe they did not even know they repaired something for Nvidia owners but they did support for AMD 7000 and it works like improvent also for our 4090.

    So pls 120Hz now :). 

    You can try another games pls. I can not try nothing else today and will be back on Sunday.

  6. Hi everyone,

    do any of you or your friends AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX and HTC VIVE PRO 2? Is this combination working? All max settings, ok?

    I think there is one solution because I realy do not have any option to buy another VR headset then Vive 2 PRO (IPD etc.) and cheapest solution will be new card 7900 XTX. Half price then 4090. I can put it to second computer and play VR there - hope on full max without problems.

    btw - I will try Vive Console 2.1.21.4 and let you know.

    I don't think pimax has solved it yet either. Somewhere at the beginning of the discussion someone wrote that so far only Varjo and Valve. But I'd like to be wrong. For me only Pimax 12K, the only one with IPD from 57, which I need. But it's not for sale yet.
    Unfortunately, the reverb starts at 60. And then the Varjo Aero also from 57, but for the money it seems to me a small FOV.

And anyone who wants to buy HTC, I'll talk them out of it.

    so I if I go back to 3090 it will not be ok? OMG. Thx for info. It would be a lot of useless work if I change it back (cables, water etc.) Thx.

    How works VIVE PRO 1 and RTX 4090? Do you have somebody this combination?

    Btw, I play around those framedrops... I have set Vive console on Ultra (4896x2448 90 Hz) and there was in steam vr auto set to 100%, so I set it to 3000x3000 or 40% and stutter is gone and have only 2-3 framedrops.

    64 is still super, at rtx3090 i was all the time on the edge. I bought liquid 4090 because of space, just 2 slots. I need other slots on motherboards.

    When I have set something in Vive console - resolution - and then change resolution in steam settings 3000x3000 or 11000x11000 etc, it is still same. I think it takes resolution from console and ignore this steam settings. Realy do not understand how it works.

    MSI GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM LIQUID X 24G, HTC VIVE PRO 2.

    AudioShield, Alyx, and also just the Steam/Vive room or cottage on "snow" montains. Settings default or everything other - I tried to change all. A lot of combination. Playable only on the lowest resolution in Vive Console, but not mean it is working. It is playable but not like on old 3090.

    If I can return it, I will not wait any sec and return this "crap". HTC is not able even make functional forum. I can not even login and reply to your post in Chrome. Have to use Edge. OMG.

  13. so I did some test and have some information. I reinstall Vive console. Try Alys again on max - 4896x2448 120hz and it works. But walls are shaking when I am moving with head like in Matrix :). Reprejection and frames drop like .....

    I also try to max all graphics - ultra - in menu Alys and still working. Then I quit. Switch in Vive console to Ultra - 4896x2448x90 and no working. Game launched. I stand in the middle of concrete and no menu visible to play the game. Same at all Vive console setings with 90hz. Working only at 2448x1224x120 and 4896x2448x120.

    I played audioshield 30minutes today - on 2448x1224x120 in Vive Console and anyway on this smallest resolution is not like it was with RTX3090. You can feel it in this fast songs - i play special Insane mod and you just feel that is not good. But it is playable.

    I hope experts from HTC will do something soon.

    I am trying now Alyx and I can not play it on anything else then 2448x1224 (1224x1224 per eye). HTC VIVE PRO 2 and RTX 4090. If i put anything higher in Vive Console. I start the Alyx game and see only concrete cave. And nothing can do. On Windows screen I have purple and black cubes - no screen in "Alyx game window". I try beta steam vr, beta console Vive. Nothing helps.

    And just when I go on basic resolution 2448x1224 in console. I can play Alyx.

    In other games - like beatsaber - I play Audioshield. I have same problems like others in this forum. For best performance I have to set (also for Audioshield - basic game) - 2448x1224. This is terrible.

    My next HMD will not be HTC in any way. They can make whatever, but I will never buy it. Because they are not able to fix anything. Over maybe 4-5 years we wait for update of led charging diod - they promised to repair with update.

    Aragorn - can you try today Alyx if you realy can play in anything over 2448x1224?

    p.s. I tried also safe mode starting Alyx - same results.

  15. So option "turn controller off after (x) amount of time" fixes the headset turning off after 5 minutes also for me. UFF.

    But I have to write that this is so so sad from Vive developers. I had no problems with it on old computer maybe 6-7 months ago. Then after some vive updates it started to go off after 5 minutes. I tried almost all and only one way was - when this "problem" happened - plug cable from battery off and after 20 sec plug it back (steam vr and vive wireless was going still on). Then I can play for hours. One month ago I bought new computer and there was the bug little different. Maybe because new computer is really rocket, the "off situation after 5 minutes" lasted only a fec sec then the game continue. But I lost score etc. And I can not just unplug the cable and put it back. It did not work.

    Today I was really upset so start again to find out some solution and I am very happy that I founded on steam discussion. 

    This realy wird small option with controler off has such a big effect on this. Why there is no update for this bug yet??? 
    The solution is almost 1 year old and it is still not fixed??
    Wake up developers.
    And when you will repairing this, you maybe could repair the color of charging diod on HTC controlers. It is maybe 3 years from the time when I read on some discusion that it will be solved with next update.
    New controles from PRO kit is indicates charging also when they are fully charged. If you unplug them and plug them back to power then you see white color. But if you charge them without unplug you will never see that it is done.
    Why you are not able to repair this for such a long time? 

    Big thanks to all guys which are finding solution for various bugs and problems. Without you we never be happy with "not finished" stuff from HTC Vive developers...

  16. yes, i totaly agree, I would also prefer old original straps insted of new tons of plastic. I am playing HTC VR from begining of VIVE, I had two Vive one and one PRO. 

    Deluxe Audio strap I used for maybe 5 hours and then I returned to box and it is total useless.

    Now on HTC VIVE PRO I am realy disappointed with plastic construction. Does somebody at HTC played more then 2 hours with it? Terrible. Sorry, but realy bad.

    I have to tighteen so much to not move and then I am wet like fish in a few minutes. And still have feeling it is not holding good.

    And the headphones? I have small head but I have to move the headphones entirely down but I have it still not centered on my ears (need a little bit down more). What can do man with a little bit bigger head then me? He will have headpons above ears. How can even HTC leave this go to world.

    I am not happy. I was so much looking forward to new PRO but now I have it at home 3 days and thinking about returning.

    Quality of video - only the one reason why I like it.

    Wireless - I have to wait 1 months for adapter with the small cable what I needed for this PRO :O(. But ok, I can wait.

    Connecting with PC - I upgraded firmware controlers but I can not upgrade HMD. Errors in all USB holes. Working (upgrading) 15minutes and no upgrade then.

    Cameras - not working. And when I change frequency and restart steam vr, it is on same level like before restart. So I can not do anything. On old VIVE camera was working no problem.

    (I have USB 3, no problem with it).

    I hope someone from HTC will read this. Thanks.

    p.s. I have 1. HTC Vive at PC (new version with new cable) / 2. HTC Vive at notebook for tripst and outside of home (first version with 3-cable) / 3. HTC pro full kit at PC cabeled now / 4. wireless kit at HTC Vive and waiting for short cable to replacing it

    best version if I "bypass" graph quality is HTC vive with first straps.
