Where is the physical tracked position of VIVE controller

Hello,

I want to know where the physical position of VIVE controller.

 

I've got to know VIVE uses  a lots of tracking sensors in VIVE controller to get its position/rotation.

 

However, I could not find where the physical position of vive cotroller is.

Is the physical position one of the sensor or some abitrary position in VIVE controller?
