NvdL Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Hello all,I am orienting to buy a new laptop. I'm looking for a portable laptop to do some developing on location as well as to take it with me abroad to give demonstrations. Is there anyone that tried the HTC VIve + controllers with the new MSI gs63VR laptop? This laptop has optimus, would this constitute a problem? Anyone that tried it with the ASUS GL502? Any suggestions for other portable laptops that would suffice are very welcome! Thanks a lot in advance!Best, Nynke

Another great, portable option in that range would be the Razer Blade 14" which also features the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060.
RichCassini Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Or you could go with a normal (light) latop that has a Thunderbolt 3 port - and then hook up an external GPU such as the Razor Core, Atikio Node or Asus ROG XG. Put a GTX 1070 or above in the eGPU.
ONGKCDARREN Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Hi HTC Vive Team, I will like to buy a new laptop to run with HTC Vive. Can I know whether the following laptop can run well with HTC Vive - MSI GP62MVR 7RF I7-7700HQ 16GB RAM,GTX1060 DDR5, WIN10 ?
hmacaroni Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 I've an HP Omen and with a miniport to hdmi adaptor it runs great, one proviso, don't ever run this laptop without power for anything as it will mess with your graphics card power setting
