ONGKCDARREN Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Hi Support team, I will like to get a new laptop to run with HTC Vive. Can the following laptop run with HTC Vive - MSI GP62MVR 7RF I7-7700HQ 16GB RAM,GTX1060 DDR5, WIN10 ? Need your confirmation before I make my purchase. Thanks

For additional graphics card options, view the complete list. Memory: 4 GB RAM or more Video output: 1x HDMI 1.4 port, or DisplayPort 1.2 or newer USB: 1x USB 2.0 port or newer Operating system: Windows™ 7 SP1, Windows™ 8.1 or later or Windows™ 10 https://www.vive.com/us/ready/ Thank, -John C
ONGKCDARREN Posted June 2, 2017 Author Posted June 2, 2017 Thanks John. I saw the minimum specs for Vive. Do you know of anyone who is using this model of laptop that is working fine with Vive ? This model only uses GeForce GTX 1060 with 3GB GDDR5. Is it enough to run Vive ? Also they have a HDMI Port of 1x (4K @ 30Hz). Is it enough to run Vive ? Please advise. Sorry for asking too many questions. I want to be very sure before buying the laptop. I am buying the laptop just for Vive. Thanks
HackPerception Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 I can't speak specifically to that model but I have a MSI GE72VR that runs the same (or very similar) 3gb 1060 chipset and it preforms pretty well with Vive.
ONGKCDARREN Posted June 2, 2017 Author Posted June 2, 2017 Thanks. I have gone ahead to purchase this laptop. May come back to you again if I have any problems. Thanks.
