OrangeLeader Posted May 12, 2018 Share Posted May 12, 2018 Does anyone know if the 2nd generation of Ryzen processors from AMD (specifically the Ryzen 5 2600x) are compatible with the Vive? I get a message during setup/test my pc that says "This processor may not be powerful enough to run Vive." (see below) Has anyone else had issues with these processors? Will they eventually be supported? I find it hard to believe that they "aren't powerful enough" for VR headsets when they out perform the 1600 and 1700 variants from last year. HackPerception Posted May 14, 2018 Share Posted May 14, 2018 , there isn't a ton of data on this processor in combination with the Vive but I think it should be more than fine. The 1600's work but are a bottleneck. I think that it isn't so much raw "power" that determines compatibility so much as it's the chip's specific features (instruction set, cache... ect).
