jf@htxlabs.com Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Curious about the WebVR implementation that is mentioned in the VIVE Browser description in the Focus app store. The description says that it supports cutting edge WebVR Technology, but I can't get any of the simple examples out there to run. Tried the webvr samples and the aframe site as well as youtube 360, and all of them rendered on the flat virtual browser screen. Is there an alternative beta browser that actually has this feature enabled? Has anyone tried sideloading other browsers for this purpose?
jf@htxlabs.com Posted July 11, 2018 Author Posted July 11, 2018 Looks like not a lot of love for WebVR... meanwhile other platforms are highlighting this feature - which has a lot of applications for education...
dario Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Oh but there is, our friends at Mozilla are making progress on the Vive Focus:
larsberg Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Stay tuned! We have updates here - https://blog.mozvr.com/ and we will have a preview of the immersive mode support in this upcoming week's upcoming status. And you'll be able to sideload a build from the early adopter releases https://github.com/mozillareality/firefoxreality once it's landed in the codebase :-)
jf@htxlabs.com Posted July 12, 2018 Author Posted July 12, 2018 Oh I'm so glad to hear that Dario. Thanks for the update!
jf@htxlabs.com Posted July 12, 2018 Author Posted July 12, 2018 Awesome, please do keep us posted, this is a super important feature, I'd be happy to test and provide feedback.
