skoncol17
Just got the vive and setting it up. I've tried all of the general troubleshooting tips as well as the ones in the link below and nothing is working. https://community.viveport.com/t5/Technical-Support/108/m-p/14866/highlight/true#M5178 Is there anything else I should try. Thanks
Synthesis
108 almost certainly means you're having some sort of connection failure. Try bypassing the linkbox. Are you getting a light on your HMD at all? What are you plugging your cables into? Is everything in the same GPU including the monitor?Reseat the cables, make sure your power outlet is actually feeding power to the HMD.Thanks, -John C
skoncol17
When I bypass the link box, the light on the HMD is red. Both my monitor and HMD are plugged into my GPU. The only thing that isn't is the HMD's USB.
skoncol17
I have also confirmed that it's not an issue (or not THE issue) because I connected the HMD using the Link Box cords and it still did not work.
Synthesis
So if you're getting a red light, you are getting power, but you've demonstrated that none of the cables works and you're still getting 108 error. Give this a try. If this doesn't work, there may be an issue with the HMD itself. I'd recommend returning it for a replacement if you're within 14 days of your purchase on Vive.com or within the return period of the third party retailer if you purchased from them. Unplug all Link Box cables from your PC. From your host computer, go to SteamVR > Settings > Developer. Make sure the Developer Settings checkbox is checked. Click on Remove all SteamVR USB Devices. Make sure the link box's USB cable is not plugged in and click Yes. Once this is complete, quit SteamVR, plug your link box in (USB, HDMI, Power), and re-launch SteamVR. skoncol17
I solved the problem. Go to the steam folder > steamapps > common > SteamVR > bin > win64 then run vrstartup.exe. Finish up the initial setup, then restart your computer. It works perfectly for me after that.
