Kindly share your views about taking PPC services for short-time

Do you think taking the pay per click (PPC) services for a limited time is beneficial for the business? I own a writing agency, and up till now we have been providing the services locally, but now we want to serve the international clients as well. The SEO rank of the website is only okay as our website lands on the second page of the Google. I was hoping to work more on the SEO to enhance the rank and in the meanwhile I was hoping to get the PPC services in Dallas for a short-time until the SEO rank is not improved.
