Compositor not Available 436 Error

This was an issue I ahd when I first got my Vive a couple years back, but it got resolved quickly. Now after the recent SteamVR update, it's back and I've tried all the methods I could that worked back then. It sometimes decides to work when I unplug and replug in my HDMI cord, but it seems really arbitrary on whether it works or not and can take up to an hour or more before it even does that. My computer is an Alienware 13 R3(I know I should be using a desktop for this, but it worked fine in the past)
