MWilliamGoody2303 Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 As a post on the Vive subreddit mentioned about 1 or 2 weeks ago, (This one: https://www.reddit.com/r/Vive/comments/bvku6c/psa_you_can_turn_off_the_mura_correction_now/) we were finally given the option to toggle Mura Correction and Black Clamp on or off. I'm not sure how many people have this issue. but there's a small hardware defect in some Vives like mine where one lense has been configured differently than the other in how strong the mura correction is. This results in one eye feeling blind when in very dark scenes, and once your eyes adjust to notice it, it becomes very distracting and annoying. For some people the Mura Correction toggle fixed this. For others - like me - the Black Clamp toggle fixed this. But for whatever reason it has since been removed from the menu, so I can't turn this off anymore. Does anyone know what's going on?
HackPerception Posted June 18, 2019 Posted June 18, 2019 - You'd likely want to post on the SteamVR discussions page or the OpenVR Github The SteamVR compositor is wholely maintained by Valve - Vive did not play a role in the depreciation of these features and ultimately Valve is who sets the feature set for the SteamVR compositor. It looks like they temporarily tested this option but quickly patched it out.
MWilliamGoody2303 Posted June 19, 2019 Author Posted June 19, 2019 Ah, thank you for that. I hadn't considered that this is Valve's side of things. Thank you!
